A summer photo banner with Carta Bella!

Hello, friends!! Have you been following the Echo Park and Carta Bella blogs to check out all the fabulous projects for our SUMMER CRAFT CAMP? There’s also been some great free printables and a summer photo check list.. check it out!

These photo checklists are great for Project Life and Scrapbooking! Sometimes you get so busy with the summer fun that you might miss something!

And how about this cute printable? Download it HERE.

Now, here’s a recent project that I created for the ‘craft camp’ A summer photo banner using Carta Bella’s ‘Cool Summer’ collection!

Pretty cute, right? I really enjoyed working with this collection.. it’s so beautiful with super cute element stickers! If you’d like to download my step by step instructions, CLICK HERE. This would be a great mantle decoration.. or even tied to an empty photo frame. I used Lori Whitlock’s pennant die cut files with my Silhouette Cameo, but if you do not have an electronic die cutting machine… GET ONE.. lol.. No, really.. you can easily hand cut some pennant shapes. These are 4″ wide.

I thought the little fabric bows were adorable.

Staged photos with perfectly coordinated dress and pink ice cream? You bet! lol. I have no shame!

How do you like it? I totally forgot how much I enjoy making little banners… I might have to make some more! ;) Maybe a fun Halloween one with some Doodlebug Designs.. Yup. I think that will happen! I always start my Halloween projects in July (for CHA) and it gets crazy from there. Halloween crafting is my FAVORITE! What about you?.. What is your favorite crafty time of year?

OK, folks.. see ya later! Now that court is over (I will update you all soon) I can get back into crafty mode. I am so happy too have the stress of ‘what if’ and court off my back. I do not wish custody issues on anyone! It’s for the birds.. really.

Talk to you all soon! Enjoy your weekend! *waves*

Easy little Halloween card!

I’ve been searching for some awesome Halloween paper and came across My Mind’s Eye’s new Mischievous line! Holy cuteness! I will need a few of these kits, for sure. I’ve been stocking up on Apothecary from Echo Park and I needed some new stuff so everything won’t look the same, lol.

I posted the other day on Facebook about my $1.00 bin finds at Michaels Craft Store.. some awesome Halloween stamps! There are more, and I plan to go pick them up soon! How cute are these?

And for only a buck, they stamp great! Although… I am not sure what ‘great’ really is seems I don’t really use stamps. I chalk that up to the fact that I don’t really OWN many stamps, lol. I have a folder of some I designed though.. Thinking of making them availiable for digital format.. Anyhow.. My new paper came today so I had to play! I gotta say, I LOVE the touch of light blue in this line! So different for Halloween!

Here’s my simple little card using my cheapie stamps…

I stamped onto light grey cardstock and then cut them out… inked the edges a bit. I like how it came out!

I also love the pleated trim! Do you?… Here’s how to make a paper pleated trim:

  • Cut 1 or 2 strips at 12″w and 1.5″h. (for my card at 7″w I cut two strips, one at 12″w and one at 8″w to create one long strip)
  • Drag out your score board and score at 1″, 1.5″, 2.5″3″ and so on… you will want spacing like so… 1″,1/2″, 1″, 1/2″.. like so:

  • Run a line of adhesive tape down the center. (Sorry for the cruddy pic)

  • Then, pleat fold at the 1/2″ marks like so.. Adhere two strips together if needed.. You can make these any size you’d like! Enjoy!

Easy, right?! Adds a nice touch to a card, bag, etc.

I hope you all like my little card! Thanks for stopping by!

Sew Easy.. Sorta??…

Hello, friends!

You might have seen on my Facebook Page that I got the Sew Easy recently.. as in.. all of it, lol! (I had a feeling I would love it!) Here’s the loot! Look at all those pretty colors!

I was finally able to open it all up and get to playin’! Since my brain is in Halloween mode, I made a little Halloween giftbag! I didn’t spend too much time on it, since I have to get my blogiversary projects done. I do love the way it came out! I wanted to add a tag and other little things, maybe later.

Here it is! My first project using the Sew Easy!

I’ve been adding eyelets to anything I can lately.. :) Photobucket

I picked up these little wood stars at Michaels the other day, wasn’t sure what I would do with them at first. I think they are great for Halloween projects! I inked them up and hot glued them onto wire.

Yep, the stitching is a bit crooked on one side. That was the very first side I did and kinda messed up. I already had it inked with the jack-o-lantern face on it, so I didn’t want to start over. It doesn’t look too bad though.

A few thoughts on this product..

If you don’t know certain stitches you might have to do a little research on the stitch you’re trying to do. Like this one, called a blanket stitch. It’s a little time consuming until you get the hang of it. I know how to blanket stitch by hand, but on the paper and how the stitch was done on the paper (not right on the edge) it took a little figuring out. I just sat in my recliner and hand stitched it, it was relaxing actually!

NO, this does not come out like something would from a sewing machine. These are embroidery flosses! I actually like it because it stands out more.

The mat is a MUST HAVE! You need a bit of pressure to pierce through the paper, especially thicker paper like AC cardstock.

But yeah, super fun and easy to use if you are familiar with the more difficult stitches… if not, You Tube would be helpful!

I’ve got several more ideas already.. like little stocking cards around Christmas, etc. I might get creative and stitch on names!

I hope you all like my little bag! Now time for me to get over to You Tube and see if my videos for my Echo Park witch hat box are ready for you all! (they were lagging a bit, grrr..)

Talk to you all soon!

Oh, Silhouette.. how I love thee… (Bonus: Random Cricut project!)

I got a chance to play around with my Silhouette today! I did another fun and simple print and cut project! I am just LOVING this feature! I made this card in less than 30 minutes after everything was cut out! *high five*

I am going to do a basic print and cut tutorial soon for anyone interested. It’s a little different than my last tutorial. I know there are plenty out there.. but there isn’t one from ME.. lol!

Well, I don’t have much time to chit chat right now… Awww, don’t be sad.. You will be exposed to more of my randomness soon enough!  I am working on a FUN project for the Summer SVG Shindig blog hop AND getting a cute project done for this coming Monday over at Paper Dolls!

So.. on to the card! This is a basic 5×7″ card base.

Cuteness?.. Yup! This was SO simple, but the printed graphics add so much to the look of the card.

If you want to make one, you’re in luck! Because I’m nice enough to tell ya how to do it!….. No, please.. no need to thank me!

You will want to snag THIS set from JazzyPatterns on Etsy! *If it’s sold out, just go to her shop and look for it. It’s called ‘Fun at the Beach’*

In the Silhouette Studio I sized them to the following sizes:

  • Fish – 1.930w
  • Sun – 2.500w
  • Umbrella – 3.000w
  • Starfish – 1.300w

The card is a 5×7 with the printable paper trimmed and layered over it. The ‘wave’ trim was print and cut as sized, however, it will hang off of the mat. This is fine, just go ahead and print and cut. :)

That’s it! I added some stitching and inking and used foam squares to give some depth.

If you are unsure how to print and cut, stay tuned!

Now, time for the bonus random Cricut project! I am still buying cartridges, even though most people who read my blog are kinda anti ‘bug’ now since the lawsuits. I personally don’t give a crud, and I like all those cute cartridges! When had their recent sale, I picked up a couple new cartridges, one being the Disney Toy Story one! So cute! My son is SO into Buzz Lightyear! And although he has tons of Buzz toys all over the place, I knew he would love this one that mama made! When he woke up from his nap he was so excited to see this guy on my desk!

I mean, he IS pretty exciting! And a total pain in the butt! (like any man, really..) LOL! I cut everything out, and kinda stared at it for a bit. It took about an hour to assemble. Well worth it.. until he had it in his hands for 10 minutes.. he pulled the wings off. *thud* SERIOUSLY, CHILD!!! I took Buzz away to fix him and asked Austin (my son) if he can live in Mommy’s craft area.. he said, “OK.. but where is him’s bed?!”

Have a great weekend, friends!

Silhouette Video Tutorial – Coloring cutable files to create print and cut graphics!

Hey there! It’s my first video tutorial! Whoo-hoo! LOL! This is the tutorial I did the other day for our Paper Dolls blog, and I thought it would be easier to have a video to watch. I hope you all enjoy it.. I’m not very good at this video thing.. YET! LOL! Also, my micorphone isn’t the best.. sorry!

Anyhow, this tutorial will show you how to color in these fish cut files and make them printable for print and cut! Enjoy!

You can click the full screen button in the bottom right if you want.. Might be easier to see!

And here is the actual link CLICK ME!

P.S… not sure why I ‘yelled’ the color orange! LOL!

Dinner is served!

On the menu today… escargot and mushrooms!

Yummy! :)

So, the other night I was pouting because my Silly-butt was being.. a butt! (Silly-butt is what I am calling my Silhouette.. lol) The blade went el’ crap-o on me for whatever reason. I was told it’s ‘faulty’… hmmm.. I think it’s the weight loss fairies punishing me for eating that candy bar the day before. What-ev.. so yeah, I made a card with my Cricut.. bleh! I am totally spoiled by the Silhouette’s awesome cutting ability now. You will see in my close-ups the crap job the Cricut did on my blades of grass. And before you bug lovers start going off about it doing that because it’s an SVG.. yada, yada.. nada, chicka’s… I used my Create a Critter cartridge! How’s that bowl of soup for ya?.. Hmmph! (Don’t worry.. I am a closet bug lover, too.. can’t stop buyin’ those cartridges! Ack!)

Anyhow, I got a new blade in and was practically tripping over myself getting from the mailbox to my Silhouette to toss the new blade in and fire her up! IT WORKED!!! Whew! So that’s good.. and I will be able to start sharing some more more silly-butt projects soon!

So.. without anymore rambling.. here’s my latest card! I know.. you already saw it, but in case you forgot who’s blog you’re on… ‘Happy Life.. Crafty Wife’.. which means, you get bombarded with too many pictures. You love me for it, you know it!

OK, seriously.. how stinkin’ cute are those SVG’s…? It just makes you wanna grab a salt shaker and go at ‘em! (If you don’t know what salt does to snails.. it’s time to do a lil’ Google search…)

I know.. I’m so mean. I actually did that to a snail before…and felt totally guilty about it. I was a punk teenager, so really, I could have been out doing much worse, but instead.. I was dumping salt on snails in my free time! LOL!

I didn’t stamp anything on the sign just yet.. I’m waiting for the perfect stamp to go there ;)

Oh, yeah.. the recipe.. oy.. maybe just for this post we won’t call it a recipe…

Umm.. ok.. tutorial.. yes, the tutorial.. here ya go darlin’!

It’s pretty simple! Only one SVG collection and a step card base!

Now, go find yourself a standard step card base. SVG Cuts has theone I used.

The cute SVG’s are from the fabulous Lettering Delights <~~~~~ do not click unless you plan to empty your bank account due to overwhelming cuteness.. actually, yes.. click the darn link! I’m an affiliate! LOL! (psssst.. they have a summer sale going on for summer themed SVG’s! So check it out!) I used the No Place Like Home set! I also used one sheet of the digital paper to match HERE

Here are the sizes I cut:

  • Basic rectangle shape in SCAL or MTC sized to 1.929w x 3.738h. This is what I used the printed paper for.
  • -01.svg – 2.75h
  • -09.svg – 3.25h
  • -11.svg – 3.00h
  • -03.svg – 1.85h
  • -04.svg - 1.75h
  • -08.svg – 2.00h
  • -02.svg – 2.50h

That’s it! Grass can be used from any old grass cut. I used the Create a Critter cartridge grass at 1″ and 3/4″ tall.

I hope you like it.. if you don’t.. I will send my crazy flesh eating snail after you!

What.. you think I’m kidding?…

“Flesh eating snail, Tamara… seriously?”

Umm.. seriously!!

What… he missed his rabies vaccination!

Bunny Cuteness!

I just LOVE the cute Spring Bunnies SVG Collection over at! I knew the moment it came out I had to create something with them! I made a few things.. Some cute egg wrappers, gift boxes (bunny and a carrot) and also a cute little bunny basket! I really had fun with this collection! You can see some more pictures and all the details RIGHT HERE

Here are a few more pictures!

I hope you all like it!

I have a few projects to work on this weekend.. one being a Design Team project for Right At Home Scrapbooking! I’m not 100% set on what I will be making for them yet, but it will be cute.. of course! :)

Alrighty crafty friends! Talk to you soon! I would love it you would ‘like’ this post to share it on Facebook!

Simple little door hanger to brighten up a sick kiddo’s day!

I am sure you’ve seen my posts on my blog and Facebook with me whining about being sick. Well, my oldest caught the germs! She was the only one who didn’t get sick and I thought she was in the clear. Nope… she woke up this morning with a low fever and headache. She’s been home in bed all day. I thought I would make her a little door hanger to try and cheer her up! I whipped this up super quick while she was napping so it’s not all decorated how I normally would have liked to do.. but it works. :)

I don’t care for the pale yellow on the butterfly’s body, but it was too late to try and fix it… plus I was being lazy about it, LOL!

Cute though! And very easy.. we all love easy, right? You could also make something like this with SVG files if you don’t use cartridges.. or don’t have all of these. I chose to use cartridges just so I can put it out quickly with my Gypsy.

Wanna make one? You need about 20-30 minutes, some cute paper and glue!

Cartridges Used :

Tags, bags, boxes and more : Create a Critter : Straight From The Nest : Paper Dolls

Cut the flower from SFTN at 5.25h Use a circle shape punch for the hole OR use your Cricut to cut one. You can also weld a hole on it through the Gypsy.

The stem is cut at 11″h. You will cut two. Make sure you flip one of them if you are using patterned paper (press FLIP on your Cricut). Layer these between a popsicle stick for support (you can layer them without a stick, I think it would be strong enough!) Trim about 3″ off the bottom.

The box is from TBB&M. Cut this at about 11″ wide. I used the giftbag on blackout (so there are no holes) and then I trimmed the handles off. Glue the stem onto the back center.

The fence is cut from Paper Dolls at 1 3/4″h. I trimmed it to fit the front of my box.

Then cut the CaC butterfly at 2.25″h.

Have fun with this! Add a cute animal, etc.! I wish I had more time to play around.. maybe I will make another soon? This would be cute to stitch around the flowers with a sewing machine. :)

Toodles! Don’t forget to click the ‘LIKE’ button under this post to share on Facebook!

Simply Sweet Lollipop Bouquet

I just wanted to share my newest creation for Right At Home Scrapbooking! You can find all the carts I used and cut sizes IN THIS POST It’s super simple and would be a great gift for someone special!

Here are some pics! I recently bought the 3 Birds On Parade cartridge. Not sure why I waited so long to get it, it’s adorable! if you love cutesy birds, check it out!

It would be really cute to write or stamp something inside the lollipop cover! I got the idea to do this from a design team friend of mine, Amy.. she made THESE for Valentine’s day! Aren’t those so cute?!

Anyhow, I hope you like the little lollipop bouquet! Enjoy!

Summer Fun! 27 inches of paper cuteness!

It’s funny how a little idea… scribbled down on a scrap piece of paper while you’re waiting for dinner to cook… turns into something totally awesome!

About a week ago I thought of a cute little table decoration to make since my LAST ONE was such a huge hit! I figured something with pinwheels, maybe some flowers and animals..

……. And of course it had to be bigger than my last one! I mean, I have to keep you all excited, right? Plus, I love a challenge! I decided to skip using animals and think of some other little things that reminded me of summer. I started with one little section and that had another section added on.. and so on.. and then I ended up with this…..

Bright… cheery.. FUN! It came out sooo cute and I feel like my pictures do not truly show it’s greatness! Did I mention it’s about 14″ tall and 27″ long?

Here are some close ups for ya!

OK… seriously.. How is that NOT awesome!? Maybe it’s a bit much for some people, but it makes me smile and look forward to summer! Tire swings, beautiful days, watermelon.. Mmmmmm!

I didn’t plan on finishing it so soon, but I decided to enter it in the Fantabulous Cricut Blog Challenge!  The challenge is to make something that features your favorite season.. Now, I won’t say summer is my favorite.. but since I was already making this project I figured I could pretend it’s my favorite for a week, LOL!

*fingers crossed* I would love to win!

Would you like to tackle something like this? I will tell you sizes and describe it the best I can.. and you can wing it from there. I mentioned on my FACEBOOK PAGE that I bought a Flip camcorder! Hopefully that will make it easier for everyone! I can make step by step videos of my projects! YAY!

Alrighty.. let’s get Cricut-ing!

Paper Used – A mix of Echo Park Little Girl and Sweet Summertime! Both are such pretty collections! I used a mix of DCWV and AC solids. The tree’s green dot paper is Echo Park’s Little Boy.

Carts Used – Create a Critter, Simply Charmed, Paper Dolls, Straight From The Nest

SVG’s Used – Pinwheel was a free file I found somewhere. I don’t remember where exactly but I saw a few from searching the web!

I used SVGCUTS.COM collections – Beach Bum collection3 and the balloon shape from CRUSH ON YOU BOXES

Misc. items – Twine from THE TWINERY , buttons, dowel rods, hot glue, toothpicks and popsicle sticks. Also some styrofoam.. I get mine at the dollar store!

My styrofoam pieces were 4×4″ squares. I cut about 1/4th of it off. Do this to two squares. The two taller pieces go on the sides. The smaller ones go in the middle. The side piece with the tree is cut at 2×4″. Hot glue the strofoam all together to create your base.

Cuts several pieces of grass. I cut five at 4 3/4 (SFTN cart) Cut to fit around edges. I also added some here and there to fill in the middle.

My pinwheel is cut at 5″.

I took some square SVG’s and welded half circle to it to make scalloped edges. This was done in SCAL. Cut them 4×4.5″. These are the taller styrofoam pieces ‘box’ You will need 3 sides for each.

The hot air balloon was played with a bit. I broke it apart in SCAL and removed the shapes. I cut two of them and layered to make it different colors. The banner and flowers are in your SCAL library. Flowers cut at .75″ and the banner is 4″ wide. The balloon is from SVG Cuts and cut at 3.535 wide.

The dowel rods holding up the pinwheel and balloon have twine wrapped around them.

The tree will have a popsicle stick on the back for support. Cut the tree from SFTN cart. This is cut at 7″. The branch will be cut at 2 1/4. I used a toothpick behind it for support. Glue it to the tree.

The sun is held up by 20g jewelry wire. I twisted it around a pencil to create a spiral. The sun is created with a SCAL rectangle sized to 11x 1 1/4″. Score/fold at .5″, cut two. Smash it flat to create the crinkled circle shape. Center is a SCAL shape cut at 2″.

The pennants are two SCAL shape rectangles welded together. Fold them over the wine and glue. I used the Sweet Summertime stickers.

Fence – Paper Doll cart – 2 1/2 – cut in half.

Wagon – CAC cart – 1 1/4″

Tulip – CAC cart – 3 1/2″ – Use a toothpick glued to the back for support.

Bucket and shovel – SVG Cuts beach bum file – Cut at 1 1/2″ high

Tire swing – CAC cart (wagon tires) – press ‘real dial size’ on your Cricut and cut at 1 3/4″ – You will use both of these with a piece of 3d sticky foam of glue dot bwtween for a 3d look. Tie it to twine.

Cloud by the tree – SCAL shape – 3″w

Ball – Simply Charmed cart – 1 1/2″

Watermelon – Simply Charmed – 3/4″

Emboss for texture and add 3d glue dots/foam for depth. Chalk/ink edges. And the most important thing to remember…. hot glue is your friend! LOL!

That’s it! I really wish I would have taken photos as I put it together.. I’m sorry, but I do hope this inspires some of you to create a cute table decoration! Enjoy and as always, thanks for coming by!
