Springy Treats

I made these for my daughter’s class party, as well as FCCB’s Design Team project for Challenge Me Monday! This week is to create something using a chick or a bunny!

I used the adorable animal files from SVG Cuts Cuddly Animals Collection! I love them! I had to make 26 of these so I did edit the bunny’s feet and also stamped the faces on instead! I wanted to add a ribbon with a stamped sentiment, but I ran out of time.

Cute, right? I got my little baggies on eBay by searching ‘M&M candy bags’. It was 100 for like, $6.00! You can fit jelly beans inside them too! Mmm!

The animals are cut to 2.5″ high. I just glued them on with a low temp hot glue gun! Voila’.. Simple treats for the class party!

Summer Fun! 27 inches of paper cuteness!

It’s funny how a little idea… scribbled down on a scrap piece of paper while you’re waiting for dinner to cook… turns into something totally awesome!

About a week ago I thought of a cute little table decoration to make since my LAST ONE was such a huge hit! I figured something with pinwheels, maybe some flowers and animals..

……. And of course it had to be bigger than my last one! I mean, I have to keep you all excited, right? Plus, I love a challenge! I decided to skip using animals and think of some other little things that reminded me of summer. I started with one little section and that had another section added on.. and so on.. and then I ended up with this…..

Bright… cheery.. FUN! It came out sooo cute and I feel like my pictures do not truly show it’s greatness! Did I mention it’s about 14″ tall and 27″ long?

Here are some close ups for ya!

OK… seriously.. How is that NOT awesome!? Maybe it’s a bit much for some people, but it makes me smile and look forward to summer! Tire swings, beautiful days, watermelon.. Mmmmmm!

I didn’t plan on finishing it so soon, but I decided to enter it in the Fantabulous Cricut Blog Challenge!  The challenge is to make something that features your favorite season.. Now, I won’t say summer is my favorite.. but since I was already making this project I figured I could pretend it’s my favorite for a week, LOL!

*fingers crossed* I would love to win!

Would you like to tackle something like this? I will tell you sizes and describe it the best I can.. and you can wing it from there. I mentioned on my FACEBOOK PAGE that I bought a Flip camcorder! Hopefully that will make it easier for everyone! I can make step by step videos of my projects! YAY!

Alrighty.. let’s get Cricut-ing!

Paper Used – A mix of Echo Park Little Girl and Sweet Summertime! Both are such pretty collections! I used a mix of DCWV and AC solids. The tree’s green dot paper is Echo Park’s Little Boy.

Carts Used – Create a Critter, Simply Charmed, Paper Dolls, Straight From The Nest

SVG’s Used – Pinwheel was a free file I found somewhere. I don’t remember where exactly but I saw a few from searching the web!

I used SVGCUTS.COM collections – Beach Bum collection3 and the balloon shape from CRUSH ON YOU BOXES

Misc. items – Twine from THE TWINERY , buttons, dowel rods, hot glue, toothpicks and popsicle sticks. Also some styrofoam.. I get mine at the dollar store!

My styrofoam pieces were 4×4″ squares. I cut about 1/4th of it off. Do this to two squares. The two taller pieces go on the sides. The smaller ones go in the middle. The side piece with the tree is cut at 2×4″. Hot glue the strofoam all together to create your base.

Cuts several pieces of grass. I cut five at 4 3/4 (SFTN cart) Cut to fit around edges. I also added some here and there to fill in the middle.

My pinwheel is cut at 5″.

I took some square SVG’s and welded half circle to it to make scalloped edges. This was done in SCAL. Cut them 4×4.5″. These are the taller styrofoam pieces ‘box’ You will need 3 sides for each.

The hot air balloon was played with a bit. I broke it apart in SCAL and removed the shapes. I cut two of them and layered to make it different colors. The banner and flowers are in your SCAL library. Flowers cut at .75″ and the banner is 4″ wide. The balloon is from SVG Cuts and cut at 3.535 wide.

The dowel rods holding up the pinwheel and balloon have twine wrapped around them.

The tree will have a popsicle stick on the back for support. Cut the tree from SFTN cart. This is cut at 7″. The branch will be cut at 2 1/4. I used a toothpick behind it for support. Glue it to the tree.

The sun is held up by 20g jewelry wire. I twisted it around a pencil to create a spiral. The sun is created with a SCAL rectangle sized to 11x 1 1/4″. Score/fold at .5″, cut two. Smash it flat to create the crinkled circle shape. Center is a SCAL shape cut at 2″.

The pennants are two SCAL shape rectangles welded together. Fold them over the wine and glue. I used the Sweet Summertime stickers.

Fence – Paper Doll cart – 2 1/2 – cut in half.

Wagon – CAC cart – 1 1/4″

Tulip – CAC cart – 3 1/2″ – Use a toothpick glued to the back for support.

Bucket and shovel – SVG Cuts beach bum file – Cut at 1 1/2″ high

Tire swing – CAC cart (wagon tires) – press ‘real dial size’ on your Cricut and cut at 1 3/4″ – You will use both of these with a piece of 3d sticky foam of glue dot bwtween for a 3d look. Tie it to twine.

Cloud by the tree – SCAL shape – 3″w

Ball – Simply Charmed cart – 1 1/2″

Watermelon – Simply Charmed – 3/4″

Emboss for texture and add 3d glue dots/foam for depth. Chalk/ink edges. And the most important thing to remember…. hot glue is your friend! LOL!

That’s it! I really wish I would have taken photos as I put it together.. I’m sorry, but I do hope this inspires some of you to create a cute table decoration! Enjoy and as always, thanks for coming by!

Simply cute Valentine’s goodie box!

I swear.. with all the goodie boxes I make you would think all I do is pass out candy and whatnot, lol. No, I don’t.. I just really enjoy making them!

This one is simple and quick to make with a mix of a cartridge and a couple SVG files.

Cricut cartridge Simply Charmed (I cut the legs off the ladybug) : SVG Cuts Favor boxes : SVG Cuts Rosie’s Ribbons : Swiss dot embossing folder : Hearts embossing folder : Paper of your choice

Use a Cuttlebug for embossing! Fill up with some candy (or even a cupcake would fit in here!) and give it to your love bug! :)

Yes, I know Valentine’s Day is still a month away.. LOL!

My first design team project for!

I finished this up the other day and just adore these little treat boxes! Want to learn how to make these and the recipe for cake balls? Check out the blog post over at SVG Cuts! Tamara’s Corner

Now.. a few pictures!

Yummy! Don’t forget to pick up the SVG files at to make your own!

No, no.. you all can’t keep me away!!

I was locked out of my blog for whatever reason.. :( so sad.. But, as you see, I am BACK!

Soooo.. I have so much to talk about! I will try and keep this one short though.

Anyhow, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!… umm.. like, 4 days ago! I was at my moms house with my kids for a few days (hubby had to work.. and a double shift at that!) I had a nice time.. lots of yumy food! They deep fried their turkey and man, oh man…. Do you see the drool running down my face?… SO GOOD! I made a pumpkin spice cake with cream cheese frosting that everyone loved! I gotta admit, it smelled soooo yummy but I refuse to eat it. Cream cheese… pumpkin.. GAH! Me no likey!

We came home on Friday and I was bummed out about my lack of black Friday shopping :( I wanted $9.99 pillow pets from Toys R Us, dag-nabbit! But, I cheered myself up with Starbucks and Christmas music! We got out all the decorations and prettied up the house for Christmas. Wanna see my purty tree?

(photos are from last year..)

I looooove my purple decorations! I am not a very good ‘tree photographer’ and it really is so much nicer in person.. well, until today! I am one of those people who wants a forest in their house in December! I always put off getting a new tree.. every.single.year. Sooooo.. hubby brought me home a pre-lit white tree today! I’ve been wanting a white tree! I love it! And this baby was a whopopin’ $79.99! Yeah, buddy! It’s 6.5′ tall so it’s a good height! I decided to move my purple decorations onto the white tree.. and wow, it looks AWESOME! Now I can’t wait to go buy all new stuff for my green one!! I saw some at Michaels that I loved and I am hoping they still have them in stock when I go in on Wednesday. Knowing my luck, they will be sold out!

With the past week being so busy I didn’t have time to craft much. Yesterday I finished up these door knob hanger treat boxes for my little monsters! I didn’t go ‘all out’ on them because I know they are going to rip them apart in 30 seconds or so… I would hate to see all my hard work be destroyed! So.. I did cute and simple! I used a mix of SVG files and cartridges. If you want to make a door hanger like this one you can get the file here.. pricey for one file though — In Suspense File and of course, the fabulous SVG Cuts released THESE right after I finished mine. They would be too small for what I wanted to do.. but wow, aren’t they adorable?!

December Doorhangers SVG Kit

The girls boxes have candy, Christmas Silly bands, Christmas playing cards, PEZ dispenser, chapstick and the little headband. Austin has all that minus chapstick, cards and Silly Bands and I added some cute Toy Story 3 figures!

I love the gingerbread man one! I didn’t have a white ink pen handy to fill in the eyes though.. bummer! I will have to add that to my growing list!

I plan to surprise them on December 1st! I know they will just love them!

Ok.. looks like I’ve rambled enough for one post.. But.. I have to brag it up for a bit! With all the AMAZING entries for the SVG Cuts challenge for ‘Christmas Cards’ I still won 3rd place!! I was shocked, really!! How fun! It was for my COOKIE JAR card! I really didn’t think my card was up to par with the others I saw.. but, yay me!

ive Thanks…..

Yes.. ‘ive Thanks!’

I made some Thanksgiving decorations for my mom and with that I made some wood blocks for her covered in some pretty fall paper! On one side it says ‘Thanks’….

Pretty right? :) And the other side.. well, the other side was suppose to say ‘Give’ But, because I wasn’t paying attention.. and it was the last block I made.. it looks like it says ‘ive’..

Egh! Shame on me! Brown on brown… really, Tamara?! I should have made another block but, I was tired and my mom seemed like she didn’t mind so.. ehhh.. oh well.. If these were mine it would bug the crud outta me! All in all they are pretty cute though and will look fabulous on her table this Thanksgiving.. along with THESE…

Annnnnd.. this….

And of course she needs the matching banner I made!

I can’t wait to see it all set up!

You can find the files used on most of these items at the fabulous SVGCUTS.COM

Most the paper used is DCWV ‘Amber Autumn’ stacks! (Found at Joann’s!) And then I used the ‘neutrals’ stack by DCWV!

The turkey that is used on the placecards is the cute little guy from the Create a Critter cartridge!

All we need is a yummy Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixin’s.. Mmmmm! I can’t wait!

I will post my New for me Monday soon… I am waiting for the mail to come ;) It might be a bit later, I am shampooing the carpets today (well, starting on them! It will probably take a few days). I like to do them every year.. and.. it’s been TWO!

How to make the cookie jar card! Featuring files from

I shared my COOKIE JAR CARD earlier and said I would post instructions.. So, here they are!

Now, I didn’t get very many pictures because I took them as I was trying to figure this thing out. Hopefully it helps some of you that might be interested in making it! A video would have been better.. hmm.. maybe I will get a video camera someday! I actually have one, but I hate it, lol.

Hot glue gun

Hole punch

Double sided sticky foam sqaures

jar bottom and top

2 circles for the jar lid.

cookies and ‘icing’

cookie cutters – x2

pan pieces plus an extra bottom piece

scalloped frame top and bottom

To make the removable lid I just traced it out and hand cut.. you will need two of these.

I did some guess work.. I wanted a large card so I cut the jar pieces at 10.050 wide (finished it’s about 10″ high! Love big cards!). The pan was rotated and then cut at about 4.25″ wide (the jar opening should be about 4.5″ if cut at the size I used) The cookies are cut at about 2″ high-ish. The little cookie cutters are about 1.5″ tall. Just play around with it and have fun! I loved creating this card! I see my pan should have had another cookie on it but I lost two of the pieces and was to lazy to cut more, LOL!

Embelishments of your choice. I chose some twine.

I inked a few edges in brown and in silver.

Ribbon of your choice.

Both ‘wrong’ side of the circles.

Assemble cookies.

Cookie cutters will be doubled up for stability.

Glue one ‘lid’ to the wrong side of the bottom of the cookie jar.

Assemble your scalloped edge frame. You can leave it blank to write something later. Or print something out like I did. After I printed it out I just the bottom frame piece as a template to trace and hang cut the shape.

Glue your pan together with your cookies and any text. Glue all edges down good!

Now, glue the lid circle onto the lid.

Decorate the top of the cookie jar. I opened the file and broke it apart, removed the circles that came on the file and then added these buttons. I love them! I used twine to make them look even better! These were hot glued on.

Now, take your back piece and just set the cookie pan over it in the center so you can kinda see where you want it to lay. Take some foam double sided sticky squares and set them around the pan like so -

The squares will help hold it together along with the glue.. and also to support and guide the slide in part as well as have it ‘lifted’ a bit.

This is where I got lazy about taking photos, LOL.. But, you just glue the pan to the edge of the lid.

I glued the bottom and top pieces of the jar together with hot glue to make it more sturdy! To help prevent the top edge of the cookie jar from lifting when someone pulls the cookie pan in and out, I used a hole punch and tied the twine through it. The cookie cutters are hot glued on. Then I added a little bow, hot glued as well.

Once everything is all dry slide your pan in and you’re done! It is SO very cute and if you glue the cookies down really well (get close to the edges) then it will not ‘snag’ and slides in and out really nicely!

I created some text in SCAL and added it to my card!

Ta-da!! I really hope this made sense.. and inspires some of you! Thanks for reading! have a crafty weekend, everyone!

SVG Cuts Christmas card challenge!

I gotta admit.. I was a bit bummed when I saw the challenge was to create a card. I’ve only made one card and it’s basically a circle with a turkey glued on the front with “gobble” inside.. whoopie-doo!

So, last night I was looking at the files we have to use in the challenge. The Christmas Cookie Party set OR the North Pole Workshop set. I knew if I was going to do this I didn’t want to do a simple folded card.. while those are great, I wanted to think outside the box and hopefully inspire someone else! Then it clicked! The little cookie jar from the cookie party set stuck out to me. I took a peek at the files to see how I could make them work for this idea I had.. and well, it worked!

What you can not see it that the little ‘cookie cutters’ are glittery white.. and some other little details have glitter.

Cute?.. yep!

Now, folks.. this isen’t just two cookie jars welded to open up like a regular card, oh no, I had to make it extra special!

’tis the season for….

…… foooooor…….

(yes.. it’s a pull-out card!)

Anyone that knows me knows that I love, love to bake during the holidays and everyone usually gets homemade treats from me… so this card is totally ‘me’!

I made a little area on the back to write on.. but I decided to add a sugar cookie recipe.

(the pan looks blueish.. but it’s a metallic silver paper.. so cute!)

Now a couple detail shots..

I hope you love it as much as I do! I know it’s not over the top decorated like some people do.. but what I’ve notice is my style is much more simple and clean.. and I like it :)

I did take some ‘progress’ photos and will post some in a bit with instructions. I didn’t take a ton of pictures but it will show you the basics.

Thanks for looking! I’d love to hear what you think!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge – Green Circle

This weeks challenge is to create something cut with your Cricut that includes a GREEN CIRCLE. I had already planned on making this super cute doorknob gift box so I threw on a green circle to enter the challenge! I plan to make these for the kiddos and hang them on their doors on Christmas Eve morning…. I think they will be so excited to find these! I will make them all different. For Austin’s I will add some hot wheels and candy and for the girls maybe some silly bands, lipgloss and candy!

On to the cuteness! (no candy here.. so I used marshmallows, lol)

I tend to prefer more ‘simple’ looking things. I was going to add all sorts of stuff to this to really jazz it up.. but I realized, it was too much for my style. I think it’s perfect just like this!

Anyhow.. you want the details to make one of these yourself?

Paper/brads from My Mind’s Eye – I Believe

Cricut cartridge for penguin, tree, tag and snowflakes is Christmas Cheer.

The bag is an SVG from HERE (Super cute, but pricey for a file at $5.00!.. I looked for a freebie but couldn’t find anything and I REALLY wanted to make these for the kids)

Misc. Paper DCWV solids and glitter.

White ink from Color Box for detail (snow)

That’s it! I hope you like my little gift box! Come check out the challenge! Some great entries already!

Until next time!
