Saddle bags, here I come!

Oy.. this holiday season got me up 2lbs!! Eeeeks! Tisk-tisk. I wanted to share these two delish recipes with you all!

A tradition in our house for breakfast Christmas morning has been homemade cinnamon rolls! Oh… my…. Love me some cinnamon rolls.. and um, homemade right from the oven? *drool* Complete with cream cheese frosting. I don’t ‘do’ cream cheese but this frosting is to-die-for! I use THIS RECIPE

Mine might look a  little odd… but, that’s because I ate the outer part of the roll before taking a picture, LOL.

I follow the recipe but I do make extra frosting! Also, a little tip! After the come out of the oven, flip your baking dish upside down with the rolls inside. This let’s the gooey yummies drip down into the cinnamon rolls! I flip mine over wax paper and leave them for about 15 minutes.

They are AWESOME!!

Now.. onto something easier to make. Yet, they taste devine!

You will be everyone’s favorite person at your next party if you make these! They are best cold and right from the fridge!

The hardest part making these…. crushing the Oreo’s! I beat them and crushed them any way I could. It took awhile (because you want them to be pretty fine) But, all the beating was worth it! I am pretty sure my own mother wanted to marry me after trying these!

Mmm, good!

Germs are amoung us..

And they need to go away!

I’ve been a Lysol freak the past few days.. and it’s not working.

I caught this nasty head cold from who knows where. With my constant trips to Michaels lately, I’d bet it’s from some sick kid sneezing on some stacks of paper or ornaments.. bleh! LOL!

I THINK I will be well tomorrow. Maybe. Who really knows?… My husband has worked all weekend (16 hour shifts) and of course, I am sick and he is not home to help me. Moms are not allowed to get sick, right? If I get sick I can not lay in bed whining and moaning about a little stuffy nose that is ‘killing me’ (Like some handsome grown man I know.. and live with.. that I’m married to…).. *sigh* My kids are non-stop so any chance I had to sit down and just chill.. it quickly ended by a fight between my girls, my over dramatic 7 year old daughter who’s world comes to an end at least 3 times a day… The cat scratched my son.. my son licked the cat.. so and so needs a drink, snack, dinner… son needing to pee every 5 minutes! (yes, I swear he had to go to the potty waaay more than usual on my worst sick day!) My poor head was pounding! Ahhhhhh! Over it! It’s so hard to keep a happy mommy face on when I am not feeling well. And trust me, happy mommy face was long gone before I stumbled out of my room that morning!

I went to bed early last night after my day for hell.. Didn’t matter. My son woke me up TWO TIMES last night to.. yes.. go pee! What the heck? WHY?.. Can a girl just get some sleep? No, no I can’t. He then woke me up around 6:30 crying because he was SICK! Egh! It begins.. the cycle of germs! Never, ever can just one person in my house be sick. We like to share.. passin’ it around. I know my girls are bound to get sick in a day or so.. I should have started sneezing on their pillows the first day I was sick to get it over with.. You see, we have a trip to Ryan’s (hubby) parents planned this weekend for an early Christmas celebration. I have a gut feeling one.. if not TWO of us will be sick. Not good. I don’t want to go sick, either. My baby nephew will there there, my pregnant sister-in-law and the rest of the bunch. I don’t want them to be sick for actual Christmas day!

Hopefully I will be 100% tomorrow. I really need to get started on some baking. *fingers crossed* Right now I have a slight stuffy nose, itchy cough and a headache… wanna kiss?, LOL!

On a side note.. I crafted a bit the other day! Instead of feeling sorry for myself having some germies.. I took some DayQuil and got busy making some yarn trees!

Cuuuute! I love my little trees! They match my new decorations perfectly!

Now, with touching the pretty soft yarn.. and for the first time ever, going down the yarn isles.. I fell in love! I now have an urge to learn to knit! I have been looking at some videos and an online forum I found. Seems complicated, LOL! But, I need to remind myself I say that about every thing I start for the first time. After Christmas is done I plan to pick up some supplies and try to make something. I will probably start with a scarf. *shrugs*

Anyhow.. gotta go! I’m going to snort some Afrin and go to bed!

The creep on the shelf.

Have you ever heard of The Elf on the Shelf? It’s a creepy little stalker elf that comes out for before Christmas. The elf ‘watches’ the kiddos all day to make sure they are being good. Then, he comes ‘alive’ at night and reports to Santa. When he returns to your house he appears ‘magically’ in another spot! Some kids might be freaked out by the idea of a doll coming alive at night but my girls are totally into this elf thing! Especially Alannah!

He arrived in one of our windows the day after Thanksgiving..

It’s only been a few days and I am running out of ideas on where to put him! I am trying to keep him out of reach. The kids are not suppose to touch him or the ‘magic’ goes away..

Now, if that’s not an “I wanna eat you” look in his eyes, I dunno what is! You would think they would make the little intruder a bit cuter. I will admit, he is a freaky looking little thing.. but, the kids love ‘Cliff’ and that’s all that matters :)

No, no.. you all can’t keep me away!!

I was locked out of my blog for whatever reason.. :( so sad.. But, as you see, I am BACK!

Soooo.. I have so much to talk about! I will try and keep this one short though.

Anyhow, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!… umm.. like, 4 days ago! I was at my moms house with my kids for a few days (hubby had to work.. and a double shift at that!) I had a nice time.. lots of yumy food! They deep fried their turkey and man, oh man…. Do you see the drool running down my face?… SO GOOD! I made a pumpkin spice cake with cream cheese frosting that everyone loved! I gotta admit, it smelled soooo yummy but I refuse to eat it. Cream cheese… pumpkin.. GAH! Me no likey!

We came home on Friday and I was bummed out about my lack of black Friday shopping :( I wanted $9.99 pillow pets from Toys R Us, dag-nabbit! But, I cheered myself up with Starbucks and Christmas music! We got out all the decorations and prettied up the house for Christmas. Wanna see my purty tree?

(photos are from last year..)

I looooove my purple decorations! I am not a very good ‘tree photographer’ and it really is so much nicer in person.. well, until today! I am one of those people who wants a forest in their house in December! I always put off getting a new tree.. every.single.year. Sooooo.. hubby brought me home a pre-lit white tree today! I’ve been wanting a white tree! I love it! And this baby was a whopopin’ $79.99! Yeah, buddy! It’s 6.5′ tall so it’s a good height! I decided to move my purple decorations onto the white tree.. and wow, it looks AWESOME! Now I can’t wait to go buy all new stuff for my green one!! I saw some at Michaels that I loved and I am hoping they still have them in stock when I go in on Wednesday. Knowing my luck, they will be sold out!

With the past week being so busy I didn’t have time to craft much. Yesterday I finished up these door knob hanger treat boxes for my little monsters! I didn’t go ‘all out’ on them because I know they are going to rip them apart in 30 seconds or so… I would hate to see all my hard work be destroyed! So.. I did cute and simple! I used a mix of SVG files and cartridges. If you want to make a door hanger like this one you can get the file here.. pricey for one file though — In Suspense File and of course, the fabulous SVG Cuts released THESE right after I finished mine. They would be too small for what I wanted to do.. but wow, aren’t they adorable?!

December Doorhangers SVG Kit

The girls boxes have candy, Christmas Silly bands, Christmas playing cards, PEZ dispenser, chapstick and the little headband. Austin has all that minus chapstick, cards and Silly Bands and I added some cute Toy Story 3 figures!

I love the gingerbread man one! I didn’t have a white ink pen handy to fill in the eyes though.. bummer! I will have to add that to my growing list!

I plan to surprise them on December 1st! I know they will just love them!

Ok.. looks like I’ve rambled enough for one post.. But.. I have to brag it up for a bit! With all the AMAZING entries for the SVG Cuts challenge for ‘Christmas Cards’ I still won 3rd place!! I was shocked, really!! How fun! It was for my COOKIE JAR card! I really didn’t think my card was up to par with the others I saw.. but, yay me!

Fantabulous Free File Friday

Three days late! I just started this last week and I am already slackin’..

Anyhow, this one is super cute and so easy!

You will need a paper or styrofoam cone shape. I found some paper ones on sale at Michaels this week! You will also want to use a hot glue gun. The glittered star on top was a whole $1.00 from Walmart.

You can find the SVG files on Crate Paper’s Blog! (large, small and medium petals)

Cut ‘em all out and start glueing! Instead of wrapping each petal around a pencil like shown.. I stacked 10 at a time and curved them around my finger all at once.. much faster! ;)

Here is my finished masterpiece! (Paper is DCWV ‘Tis the season (my new favorite! So pretty!)

I also got some new goodies this week for my New for me Monday post.. which will also be late, lol.. Maybe I will just combine it all with next weeks. Ahhh, holidays taken up my time!

I am going to make a pumpkin spice cake with cream cheese frosting tomorrow.. Mmm.. (Maybe?.. lol.. I am not much of a pumpkin/spice fan)

I will catch up soon! You all have a great Thanksgiving!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge – Green Circle

This weeks challenge is to create something cut with your Cricut that includes a GREEN CIRCLE. I had already planned on making this super cute doorknob gift box so I threw on a green circle to enter the challenge! I plan to make these for the kiddos and hang them on their doors on Christmas Eve morning…. I think they will be so excited to find these! I will make them all different. For Austin’s I will add some hot wheels and candy and for the girls maybe some silly bands, lipgloss and candy!

On to the cuteness! (no candy here.. so I used marshmallows, lol)

I tend to prefer more ‘simple’ looking things. I was going to add all sorts of stuff to this to really jazz it up.. but I realized, it was too much for my style. I think it’s perfect just like this!

Anyhow.. you want the details to make one of these yourself?

Paper/brads from My Mind’s Eye – I Believe

Cricut cartridge for penguin, tree, tag and snowflakes is Christmas Cheer.

The bag is an SVG from HERE (Super cute, but pricey for a file at $5.00!.. I looked for a freebie but couldn’t find anything and I REALLY wanted to make these for the kids)

Misc. Paper DCWV solids and glitter.

White ink from Color Box for detail (snow)

That’s it! I hope you like my little gift box! Come check out the challenge! Some great entries already!

Until next time!

Be ‘Merry’ with these cute Christmas blocks!

I love these! This was my first time using Mod Podge and I am loving it! I can already see myself trying to Mod Podge everything, LOL! Hubby cut these blocks for me and they are a little bit too big. These are 3.5×4″ and I think I will stick to 3×3 and 2×2 for larger words/sayings.

I am making some more tomorrow!

I know I posted earlier.. but the cute paper set is from My Mind’s Eye Love them!!

Holiday Wreath!

Here is the holiday wreath I mentioned in the post below. It still needs ribbon and some white paint to enhance the pinecone and greenery. This is not a very good photo.. once I finish it totally then I will post a new picture. It’s so cloudy and dark out right now… not good for indoor photos!

Not too shabby for one of my first ‘bigger’ projects! I sure am loving this paper crafting business! I think I am going to start joining in some blog challenges. If you have a favorite blog feel free to share it!

Want to make one of these as well? You can get the wreath SVG from this lovely little blog I found! Bits of Paper and the SVG files for the wintergreens is from the fantabulous HERE

And a quick ‘YIPPIE’ to new followers.. *waves hello* thanks for stopping by!

New For Me Monday!

This is a fun one! I posted about Joann’s big sale over the weekend… I stocked up on some paper! So fun! I just want to craft away now! I started a Christmas wreath last night.. well, I finished it I just need to get some ribbon for it. Maybe I will post a picture later!

Anyhow.. check out my new loot!

I wanted some nice fall toned colors for some projects I am going to do. I really, really like the neutrals stack! Great colors and only $9.99! The little stacks I got super cheap.. $2 something each! The Midnight Spell was $7.00!!!!! LOVE IT! Some glittery pages, etc. It’s all solid colors so not really ‘Halloween’ and will work for fall! I also really like the printed Christmas stack.. that is what I made my wreath out of along with the winter solids.

I also picked up some Mod Podge because I want to make some wood blocks.. but, I think I got the wrong one. I just realized it’s for ‘paper on paper projects’ *waaaah* oh well, I will just have to pick some up next weekend!

Last but not least, two new cartridges! I picked these up from with their sale!! The robot one is for my little guy’s party in January! It’s really cute! And then I got the Christmas Cheer one to start on some Christmas projects! I love it!

I also got a new cup of coffee.. LOL

It’s been so cold I’ve been living off of coffee and soups, Mmmmm. I am actually making a homemade soup tonight.

Until next time… maybe later today! Gotta share my wreath. I have mixed feelings about it.. maybe because it needs ribbon. *shrugs*

OK.. gotta go.. kiddos need a snack.. how dare they need food while I am updating my blog! lol j/k.
