Witches Hat Giftbox Tutorial

As most of you know, I created a pretty cool witches hat giftbox for Echo park’s CHA summer 2011 booth! It got GREAT feedback and I figured that I would get this tutorial done for you all so you can try to make it yourselves!

It’s a lot of fun and not that much work! I made a video for the hat part since it’s easier to show in a in a video than to explain picture by picture. First, I will expalin everything else, and then add in the video for the hat at the end!

SUPPLIES -

  • Hot glue
  • Glue
  • Vintage crinkle ribbon. Mine is from HERE I used ‘almost black’ and ‘steel’
  • Apothecary paper kit from Echo Park Paper Co.
  • Ultra fine glitter (black and a dark grey)
  • 20G Jewelry wire in black
  • Ink in dark grey and black.
  • Black eyelets
  • Paper mache’ cone/cardboard cone at 4″ diameter.

SVG Collections needed (you can always make this without SVG’s)

SCAL/MTC basic shapes

  • Circle cut at 9″
  • 3 rectangle shapes at 1.50″h and 10.00″w

MISC.

  • Bats.. I found a FREE SVG file, however I can’t seem to find it again. Happy Hauntings cartridge has one as well!

1). Make the big boutique box. You will want to use the Square flat trio LARGEST one. Cut as sized in SCAL. (if you want to make your own box make it 11×11″ or larger.

2). The label was different on my original, but you can use the label from SVG Cuts Strawberry lane colelction. file is: label1_bottom.svg cut at 3.00w

3). 3D flower from SVG Cuts is in the ‘extras’ folder. File is: 28.svg sized in layers from 3.00w to 1.25w. Crickle and ink edges, etc.

Design Tips:

  • Add ink.. ALL OVER, lol. Inking add SO much!
  • Add the sticker from the collection kit to the hat!
  • Glitter the bats and web trims. I brushed on Mod Podge and then sprinkled away! The web was done in black and the bats were done in a dark grey. I used Recollections brand glitter which works GREAT!
  • Add eyelets and crinkle ribbon to the tag on the front. Add a name, etc. or stickers like I did!

Time for the videos! This will show you how to make the hat and assemble. Once the hat it done you just stick it onto the box!

I kept my face out of this video, so you get to stare at my sausage fingers! LOL! I’m not feeling very well, so I didn’t want to put on makeup or do my hair, lol. I had to break the video up into 3 parts, and they are each about 8mins long.

***Grrrr… for some reason the sound is ahead of the actual video. Sorry, not sure why it’s like that? I need to figure out this whole You Tube junk! or maybe it’s just me?.. It seems to lag about 15-20 seconds? ***

Video 1: You Tube link (may be better quality?) And yes, I totally give you all the finger, egh.. sorry, lol.. it was obviously an accident!

Video 2 – You Tube Link

Video 3 – You Tube Link

OK, that’s it, enjoy!! Hopefully the lagging isn’t too bad?… Any questions, just ask in a comment and I will reply in the comments for you!

The 19th is here.. You know what that means! CHA REVEALS!!!!!

Today is the day I get to share my CHA Echo Park booth projects with you all! Yes, I have been talking about it a lot on my FACEBOOK PAGE and now I can stop yappin’ about it and actually show you all! After I tell you all a little story..

I was contacted on July 6th asking if I would be able to design some projects for Echo Park Paper to show at CHA… I wish you all could have seen my face when I read that email! I was SO stinkin’ excited and could not believe they would contact ME, let alone read my blog.. I mean, who am I?…

I replied back saying I would.. I mean, WHO would turn that down? A crazy person, that’s who! Then, before I heard back about my deadline, I thought to myself, “Gee, isn’t CHA THIS month?”.. Ummm, yeah. *panic begins to set in*…. I was told that they needed my projects by the 14th.. *gulp*… AND they still needed to ship me the paper! *double gulp*…. I told myself, “You’ve got this, Tamara!”… (I really did say that…. Psssh! Don’t try to pretend you don’t talk to yourself!) So, I got a big box of awesomeness on July 8th in the evening and immediately got busy! As soon as I saw the GORGEOUS paper I was inspired to create! In TWO FULL DAYS I got done.. I was pretty amazed! I shipped them all out on July 11th.. which is an AMAZING day for me.. Not only did I get done super fast and knew my projects would arrive in time, but that evening I was asked to be on their in house design team!

Just imagine, if you will, a crazy woman running through the house screaming like a half pig, half duck.. being strangled. Kinda like, “Quuuuuack.. ah-ah-ah-ah *gasp*..snort, ah- *gasp* ah-ahhhh-.. Quuuuack”.. “Snort”…

My husband asked what my problem was.. and you know what?.. If HE thinks I’m having an ‘issue’ then it’s seriously disturbing!

So yeah, I am excited to say the least! It’s a lot different than any other DT I’ve ever been on and I don’t want to get into too many details, but it’s super-doooper! If you want to meet the other SUPER talented design team members, head on over to the BLOG!

And you get something out of it too.. what?.. PAPER KIT GIVEAWAY’S! Yes, I will be giving away some of the newest kits here on my good ol’ blogity-blog here and there! Yeah, buddy! And I get to give one away NOW!! (See below my projects for details!)

OK.. now that I got that outta my system, time for CHA projects and to get down to business!

*breathe in.. breathe out*…. (Seriously, I’m such a child! I feel like such a celebrity right now… LOL! )

So, first off, if you’re not already following Echo Park’s BLOG or ‘like’ their Facebook Page, then you might have missed out on peeks of some bea-U-tiful new lines! I’m talking about Victoria Gardens and Apothecary Emporium! “Hellooo000oo, GORGEOUS!”

Photobucket  Photobucket <~~~~~~ LOVE!

These were two of the three lines I got to work with! I knew right when I saw Apothecary Emporium on Facebook that I wanted to make some test tube type of project with them. I had two tubes laying around and decided to make my own SVG file to hold them (which will be a free download during my Blogiversary Bash) and decorate it with the cool stickers that come in the kit! I will admit, I don’t usually use stickers, just never really thought to. But these were SO fun!

Photobucket

Photobucket

I used a lot of pewter ink from Color Box! A great color for Halloween stuff (So is black, white and silver!)

Photobucket

Those little stickers fit just right on top of the test tubes!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

I stuck some of the stickers on cardstock and cut them out. I then distressed and inked the edges. You can do so much with these stickers alone! These would be great with some Reese’s Pieces or black and orange jelly beans in them! The twine shown is from the awesome Trendy Twine! How awesome is that black and orange?! I think it’s a limited edition, so you might want to go snag some while you can! Go like her Facebook page and let her know I sent ya!

Think that’s neat? Well, this is my FAVORITE! I had visions of doing something like this since LAST Halloween when I first started crafting, I just had no idea where to start! I tackled this and LOVE how it came out. I was sad to ship this one off, for sure! I will have to make another one!.. or at least the hat! The hat is a paper mache cone that I got wet and shaped at the top. I dried it and Mod Podged the paper to it!

Photobucket

Photobucket

I hope you like that vintage crinkle ribbon! I will be giving some away for my Blogiversary!

Photobucket

I used Recollections brand glitter and it works just as nicely as the Martha Stewart stuff…

Photobucket

Photobucket

The photo above shows how I added glitter to the wire holding the bats. It looks awesome in person with black and silver glitter on various elements!

Photobucket

Photobucket

I will share tips on how I made this in the next few days! :) It’s a lot of fun!

Next up, is the Victoria Gardens collection. When I first saw this I had so many ideas coming to me and wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. Then, I remembered a PDF file I saw awhile back to make a very small carousel.. that was it! I HAD to make a vintage looking paper carousel! The PDF was way too small to make any sort of template from so I created my own files in Sure Cuts a Lot from the basic shapes library and a mix of SVG files and created this…

Photobucket

Can I just say I am dang proud of this beauty!? It’s a GIFT BOX! The top section and bottom section are both boxes. I built this thing as if I was building myself a house! lol.. I was very careful with placement and measurements. The center column is stuffed with packing paper and dowel rods for support. I actually had a lot more flowers and things cut out and realized if I went ‘overboard’ it would have been too much since it was such a large piece as is. Again…. 98% of this was made with the SCAL basic shapes library! I will share more about how I made this in a few days.

Don’t those papers totally MAKE the project?.. That roof was a total pain to make! I had to use some rusty math skills to create it!

And, last but not least! The ‘secret’ paper I got to work with! Happy Days… how fun and cute are these papers?

Photobucket

I decided to go fairly simple with a neat 3D project. Sadly, I didn’t get very many photos of this since I got sidetracked and then ran out of time. When I saw these papers I immediately thought ‘diner’.. So, I made an ‘EAT’ sign with 3D letters!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

The dice were a last minute add for that extra something special. You can make a menu and use this to hold it, cool, huh?! Most of this project is made from files at SVG Cuts!

Photobucket

And there you have it! Again, I worked so hard on these! Most of you who read my blog know I love to make 3D projects… and that hat box and carousel really show ‘me’. I don’t usually have time to go all out like I like to.. I hope I got a few of you to say, “WOW!”.. :) I had so much fun working on these! I love starting a project and just going for it! And then to be picked up for Echo Park’s design team after all this! I am truly blessed! This past *almost* first year of paper crafting has been AMAZING for me!

Now, for my giveaway…

Wait, did I mention I am now on ECHO PARK PAPER’S DESIGN TEAM??!!… I did? Oh, well.. in case you forgot or something.. *wink*

*insert big cheesy grin here*

OK.. PAPER TIME!

Toodles!

4th of July… ALREADY?

I really can’t believe how fast this summer.. well, this YEAR is going by! Before I know it, I’m going to be shopping for Christmas presents!

I am already short on time to make the decorations I wanted. As soon as I saw the SVG Cuts USA collection, I knew I’d make everything in that set! So fun! I finally started on these letters, oh boy, what a challenge! I like to think I am pretty good at figuring things out on my own, but that is so not the case. I had to make the ‘S’ 3 times before it was perfect! First time, I didn’t watch the video.. second time it looked like my 3yo son made it.. third time, I got it! You really have to be patient and work slowly. I made the ‘A’ first, which was super easy.. so I kinda though that this whole project would be easy peasy. I plan on making letters for my kiddos rooms with their 3D Letters set… Alannah, Autumn and AuStin… Something tells me Austin might get left out, LOL!

Anyhow, I will share the banner and such when it’s done… but for now, here are my USA letters. I did it a bit differently than SVG Cuts has it. I LOVE the children silhouette so I used that. Plus, I added some ‘fireworks’. I actually planned to add a little more, but I think this is enough. If I added anymore it would just be too much.

Photobucket

Photobucket

The ‘fireworks’ were made by poking little holes through the top with a craft knife and twisting jewelry wire a bit and then adding on the stars, which are in the eCal or MTC shapes library. Put some hot glue on the end of the wire and stick it through the hole. Hold it for a bit while it cools. If you make the holes too big, it won’t work.

Photobucket

I really like the brown inking with this! Gives it a more vintage look!

Photobucket

After I made this I wished I had edited the SVG file and welded on one more girl to make my 3 kiddos.. darn!

Photobucket

Photobucket

You likey? I kept everything as sized when opened in SCAL. Even the children silhouette from the card file! The star fireworks are all cut at 1.25, 1.00, .85 and .70″..

Oh, and the paper is ‘Americana’ by K&Company! Love it!

I hope you all are having a great week!

Toodles!

I’ve got mah’ flippy floppy’s!

Well.. I’ve got ONE of ‘em! lol..

This week at Paper Dolls we are making FLIP FLOP BOXES! How fun! When I saw this file from Eleanor of SVG Shop I was so excited! I LIVE in flip flops in the summer! I’m picky though! They either have to be bright colored with big ol’ flowers on the top.. or my Reef Fannings! <~~~~ Those are what I have for this summer. I get a new pair every year! The most COMFORTABLE flip flops, ever! They hug your feet nicely and don’t really ‘flop’…. or ‘flip’.. so.. are they still ‘flip flops?… Or, are they.. SANDALS?.. lol.

*blink – blink*

Wait.. am I selling flip flops here.. or am I trying to show you my project for Paper Dolls?

(really though, check those sandals out!)

Anyhow..

Here is my take on the flip flop box! I went for a luau theme that would be GREAT for party favors! This was easy to make (for a 3D project), even better!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

And not only is the Crop-a-Dile fun to say.. it’s pretty awesome, too! Like my eyeltets?

Photobucket

Wanna make one like mine?… Head on over to Tamara’s shoe factory with your best glue.. and let’s get busy!

You can download the box from the Paper Dolls Blog.. so scootch on over there and get it!

I kept my boxed as pre-sized.

To decorate my flippy floppy, I used SVG Attic’s Luau collection!

So pretty! You gotta check out her work! (Jessica of SVG Attic). She’s just getting started, but from what I have seen from her, she’s got great stuff! Her files are easy to use, too! Also, be sure to ‘like’ her Facebook, and let her know I sent ya!

Here are the sizes I used from the Luau collection:

  • Hibiscus – 1.40w
  • Lanterns – ’round:1.063w  ‘lantern: .904w   ’tall: 1.151w
  • Luau Caption – 4.542w
  • Coconut drink – 2.396w

That’s it! I didn’t want to do too much to the flip flop because I didn’t want it to be overkill. I think the little touches I added were just right for this, though!

For the off white ‘inner’ part of the sandal, I just opened up another flop flop piece.. and unchecked ‘keep proportions’ and kinda smoohed it a bit to fit how I wanted.. I used an x-acto knife to cut the spaces for the straps. Then I inked and embossed it.. love the way it came out!

I strung the lanterns with some twine and tied little bows. You could do this with someone’s name for a gift!

The ‘grass’ trim is just two strips of paper cut to 1.25″ and frayed by hand with scissors. Super easy to do!

Welp, I hope you have enjoyed this one! I will be pretty quiet this week as I finish up the stuff for the SVG Summer Shindig Blop Hop! I can’t wait!

Head on over to Paper Dolls to see our guest designers projects.. and hopefully create something to enter in our challenge!

Have a great week!

Oh, Silhouette.. how I love thee… (Bonus: Random Cricut project!)

I got a chance to play around with my Silhouette today! I did another fun and simple print and cut project! I am just LOVING this feature! I made this card in less than 30 minutes after everything was cut out! *high five*

Photobucket

I am going to do a basic print and cut tutorial soon for anyone interested. It’s a little different than my last tutorial. I know there are plenty out there.. but there isn’t one from ME.. lol!

Well, I don’t have much time to chit chat right now… Awww, don’t be sad.. You will be exposed to more of my randomness soon enough!  I am working on a FUN project for the Summer SVG Shindig blog hop AND getting a cute project done for this coming Monday over at Paper Dolls!

So.. on to the card! This is a basic 5×7″ card base.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Cuteness?.. Yup! This was SO simple, but the printed graphics add so much to the look of the card.

If you want to make one, you’re in luck! Because I’m nice enough to tell ya how to do it!….. No, please.. no need to thank me!

You will want to snag THIS set from JazzyPatterns on Etsy! *If it’s sold out, just go to her shop and look for it. It’s called ‘Fun at the Beach’*

In the Silhouette Studio I sized them to the following sizes:

  • Fish – 1.930w
  • Sun – 2.500w
  • Umbrella – 3.000w
  • Starfish – 1.300w

The card is a 5×7 with the printable paper trimmed and layered over it. The ‘wave’ trim was print and cut as sized, however, it will hang off of the mat. This is fine, just go ahead and print and cut. :)

That’s it! I added some stitching and inking and used foam squares to give some depth.

If you are unsure how to print and cut, stay tuned!

Now, time for the bonus random Cricut project! I am still buying cartridges, even though most people who read my blog are kinda anti ‘bug’ now since the lawsuits. I personally don’t give a crud, and I like all those cute cartridges! When cricutmachine.com had their recent sale, I picked up a couple new cartridges, one being the Disney Toy Story one! So cute! My son is SO into Buzz Lightyear! And although he has tons of Buzz toys all over the place, I knew he would love this one that mama made! When he woke up from his nap he was so excited to see this guy on my desk!

Photobucket

I mean, he IS pretty exciting! And a total pain in the butt! (like any man, really..) LOL! I cut everything out, and kinda stared at it for a bit. It took about an hour to assemble. Well worth it.. until he had it in his hands for 10 minutes.. he pulled the wings off. *thud* SERIOUSLY, CHILD!!! I took Buzz away to fix him and asked Austin (my son) if he can live in Mommy’s craft area.. he said, “OK.. but where is him’s bed?!”

Have a great weekend, friends!

Berry Sweet

I came across this pattern today after I saw someone make these for the FCCB challenge this week. Download StrawberryBoxPatternwithpicture[1] .. and HAD to make them! I edited it in Photoshop and then created an SVG for it. It worked pretty good! Sooooo….. while slackin’ on cleaning I made this:

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Isn’t it just soooo berry cute? I don’t have any candy here, but these would be great for jelly beans, Hershey Kisses, etc. A fun little gift for a friend! I had a lot of fun with these! They are really easy to put together.

You know you wanna make some too!

Print and cut out the template.. or, you can use this SVG file I made. It’s not perfect, the tab is a little off, but.. it still works! Download Berry1

Everything else you can get at SVG Cuts!

If you use my SVG file provided. Cut it at 5.844w. I used my swiss dot folder to emboss the berries.  You will need to poke holes or add them in SCAL. Glue your tab to form a cone.. Or.. make yourself a Madonna cone bra, whatever floats your boat! :)

Photobucket

The ‘leaves’ are file 6 in the ‘extras’ folder from the 3D Flower Collection sized at 3.50w. Curl them a little bit.

Photobucket

The box is from the Big Boutique Boxes Collection I used the square flat trio, small.. sized as is in SCAL. I put the sides through my Cuttlebug to emboss. They don’t fit right so I had to do them each twice and turn it around the second time.

Photobucket

Assemble your box as shown in SVG Cuts.

When the berry tab is dry, you can weave your string/twine, etc. through the holes. Pull (not too tight!) and tie closed.

Photobucket

Pull the leaves through. Again, add a hole in SCAL or poke your own.

Photobucket

Add the button and the tie a bow! Ta-Da!

Photobucket

Then have fun decorating your box! Add a handle, fence, some little critters… I wanted to add more to mine, but.. I already wasted enough time and my laundry was calling!

I hope you enjoyed! If you want more 3D fruit.. go bug Mary at SVG Cuts Facebook page! LOL! I ran the idea of a 3D fruit with a picnic basket to her, I am sooo hoping she makes some! *fingers crossed*

See you tomorrow for the FCCB Cricut Crawl (Blog Hop!) I created something cute and SUPER easy!

Summer Fun! 27 inches of paper cuteness!

Photobucket

It’s funny how a little idea… scribbled down on a scrap piece of paper while you’re waiting for dinner to cook… turns into something totally awesome!

About a week ago I thought of a cute little table decoration to make since my LAST ONE was such a huge hit! I figured something with pinwheels, maybe some flowers and animals..

Photobucket

……. And of course it had to be bigger than my last one! I mean, I have to keep you all excited, right? Plus, I love a challenge! I decided to skip using animals and think of some other little things that reminded me of summer. I started with one little section and that had another section added on.. and so on.. and then I ended up with this…..

Photobucket

Bright… cheery.. FUN! It came out sooo cute and I feel like my pictures do not truly show it’s greatness! Did I mention it’s about 14″ tall and 27″ long?

Here are some close ups for ya!

OK… seriously.. How is that NOT awesome!? Maybe it’s a bit much for some people, but it makes me smile and look forward to summer! Tire swings, beautiful days, watermelon.. Mmmmmm!

I didn’t plan on finishing it so soon, but I decided to enter it in the Fantabulous Cricut Blog Challenge!  The challenge is to make something that features your favorite season.. Now, I won’t say summer is my favorite.. but since I was already making this project I figured I could pretend it’s my favorite for a week, LOL!

*fingers crossed* I would love to win!

Would you like to tackle something like this? I will tell you sizes and describe it the best I can.. and you can wing it from there. I mentioned on my FACEBOOK PAGE that I bought a Flip camcorder! Hopefully that will make it easier for everyone! I can make step by step videos of my projects! YAY!

Alrighty.. let’s get Cricut-ing!

Paper Used – A mix of Echo Park Little Girl and Sweet Summertime! Both are such pretty collections! I used a mix of DCWV and AC solids. The tree’s green dot paper is Echo Park’s Little Boy.

Carts Used – Create a Critter, Simply Charmed, Paper Dolls, Straight From The Nest

SVG’s Used – Pinwheel was a free file I found somewhere. I don’t remember where exactly but I saw a few from searching the web!

I used SVGCUTS.COM collections – Beach Bum collection3 and the balloon shape from CRUSH ON YOU BOXES

Misc. items – Twine from THE TWINERY , buttons, dowel rods, hot glue, toothpicks and popsicle sticks. Also some styrofoam.. I get mine at the dollar store!

My styrofoam pieces were 4×4″ squares. I cut about 1/4th of it off. Do this to two squares. The two taller pieces go on the sides. The smaller ones go in the middle. The side piece with the tree is cut at 2×4″. Hot glue the strofoam all together to create your base.

Cuts several pieces of grass. I cut five at 4 3/4 (SFTN cart) Cut to fit around edges. I also added some here and there to fill in the middle.

My pinwheel is cut at 5″.

I took some square SVG’s and welded half circle to it to make scalloped edges. This was done in SCAL. Cut them 4×4.5″. These are the taller styrofoam pieces ‘box’ You will need 3 sides for each.

The hot air balloon was played with a bit. I broke it apart in SCAL and removed the shapes. I cut two of them and layered to make it different colors. The banner and flowers are in your SCAL library. Flowers cut at .75″ and the banner is 4″ wide. The balloon is from SVG Cuts and cut at 3.535 wide.

The dowel rods holding up the pinwheel and balloon have twine wrapped around them.

The tree will have a popsicle stick on the back for support. Cut the tree from SFTN cart. This is cut at 7″. The branch will be cut at 2 1/4. I used a toothpick behind it for support. Glue it to the tree.

The sun is held up by 20g jewelry wire. I twisted it around a pencil to create a spiral. The sun is created with a SCAL rectangle sized to 11x 1 1/4″. Score/fold at .5″, cut two. Smash it flat to create the crinkled circle shape. Center is a SCAL shape cut at 2″.

The pennants are two SCAL shape rectangles welded together. Fold them over the wine and glue. I used the Sweet Summertime stickers.

OTHER RANDOM CUTS -

Fence – Paper Doll cart – 2 1/2 – cut in half.

Wagon – CAC cart – 1 1/4″

Tulip – CAC cart – 3 1/2″ – Use a toothpick glued to the back for support.

Bucket and shovel – SVG Cuts beach bum file – Cut at 1 1/2″ high

Tire swing – CAC cart (wagon tires) – press ‘real dial size’ on your Cricut and cut at 1 3/4″ – You will use both of these with a piece of 3d sticky foam of glue dot bwtween for a 3d look. Tie it to twine.

Cloud by the tree – SCAL shape – 3″w

Ball – Simply Charmed cart – 1 1/2″

Watermelon – Simply Charmed – 3/4″

Emboss for texture and add 3d glue dots/foam for depth. Chalk/ink edges. And the most important thing to remember…. hot glue is your friend! LOL!

That’s it! I really wish I would have taken photos as I put it together.. I’m sorry, but I do hope this inspires some of you to create a cute table decoration! Enjoy and as always, thanks for coming by!

My True Love – Valentine Heart Candy Box

Valentine’s day is coming soon and I have been trying to get all my little goodies done! I always give the kiddos a little box of chocolate on Valentine’s day.. Well, this is my first Valentine’s with a Cricut so I wanted to step it up a bit and make my own. I had these awesome Conversation Heart Box files from Svg Cuts and was trying to think of some way to make it an actual top and bottom for that traditional candy heart box look.

After some thinking it came to me! And I LOVE it! I honestly think it looks better in person for some reason.. So pretty! ignore the wrinkled paper… I am using  a spare glue and it’s mean and wrinkles my pretty paper.

Photobucket

I love the stickers in this paper collection! I used a few of them on my project.

Take your tab strips and trim them at 2″. SO you will have a 2″ strip and a smaller strip. Do this for both.

Cut your tabs so they are pretty small. This helps form a smoother shape to the box.

Score your tabs (or just fold them over) and attach like so:

You will want a fast drying glue to work quickly. Also.. to have a ‘lip’ I went around the edges of the heart and marked off at 1/2″. This will help form the box better and make sure you lid fits nicely.

Now, because I wanted a larger box I had to glue together two tab strips… just make sure you do not cut one upside down like I did, LOL! You can hide this line later with an embellishment or sticker. if you make your box smaller then it would be best to weld the two in SCAL.

Once you get back to your starting point then connect it with your loose tab strip. (You will need to trim the loose strip down about 5″ or so)

Yes… I use hair clips to hold things in place to dry..

Do the same for the lid. IMPORTANT — Your box will not close nicely if you do not match up the ‘V’ in the heart.. make sure you glue them in the same spots!

Voila’!

Time to decorate it!

Before I even made this I knew I had to have a 3d rose on it! The SVG Cuts roses are easier to put together than I thought they would be, especially with a hot glue gun!

I inked my edges… I left some white area to show through the paper core because I like the way it looks in this project! If you need some help with the roses check out the SVG Cuts video

To create the fanned circles you just cut a strips at 1 1/4′ x 11″ (for the top one) and another at 1″ x 11″ for the side. Score/fold them at 1/2″. Glue the ends together for a circle and that’s it!

The paper collection is STUNNING! From the wonderful Echo Park line ‘Be Mine’.

I really hope you love this project and it inspires you! I had so much fun making it that I am working on a dinosaur box for my son! I will show you all in a few days!

Toodles!

Glossy Accents.. Lovin’ it!

I bought this stuff about a month ago and just now played around with it. I really like it! I didn’t get a good photo to show it off but what it does is dries hard and glossy with a slight 3D look to it. I really like it for the eyes! Plus, it’s cheap! I think it would look great over snowflakes!

If you like the treat box, the SVG is from HERE super cute! I need to make the other characters as well. I have been so busy all week I haven’t had much free time. Now I am not feeling well… it’s always something! LOL! Maybe later I will try to get a better photo to show the 3d gloss better..

TTYL!
