Wow, wow, WOW! Have you all seen this stuff? It’s like burlap, canvas, and cork candy!..
Candy you wouldn’t want to eat.. I mean. Not sure how good they taste, but they sure are pretty to look at!

I was sent a big ol box of pretties (Thank you, LYB!!) and it was a bit overwhelming opening the box and trying to think of what to use first. I was tempted to just start sticking things all over my body. I had a weird urge to just use every.single.piece. It all coordinates and ideas started pouring my in head. Burlap, cork, and canvas are so ‘in’. They just add a fabulous look, feel, and texture to projects. You can die cut them, stamp them, ink them, color them.. So many ways to make them work for your style.
For my first project with the Naturals collection I decided to stay away from a ‘paper craft’. I saw this little pitcher sitting here.. with ugly ribbon shoved in it that I will never use, yet I can’t seem to get rid of it, lol. I immediately wanted to alter it… spruce it up a bit! With the help of the Naturals it would become a beautiful decor piece.
Lovely, isn’t it? I frayed a strip of fabric and hot glued it behind a burlap circle. Then I stamped some polka dots onto a burlap flower and layered it over the circle with adhesive foam for dimension. The stick pins are stuck right into the foam. I LOVE the stick pins!
I love how easy it is to punch the cork… with a craft punch. I am not abusing my cork pretties. Don’t call CPS on me.. get it.. ‘CORK Protective Services’. Yeah.. I am full of lame jokes… I added some small scalloped circles to the wings of the larger butterfly.
I created a very simple tag on a dowel rod. I love the look of the cork letters on the cork tag.
I decorated the handle with a canvas tape strip. These are awesome and adhered really well!
Who wouldn’t love to get their hands on these pretties? I haven’t seen them online for purchase just yet. But I have seen them at Michaels! YES! You can get your LYB fix at Michaels craft stores! I was there the other day and immediately pulled to the display. So, if you live near a Michaels, stop by and see them for yourself.. and bring your checkbook. *wink*
I only had a chance to make one project for now, but I wanted to show how great the burlap tags looked stamped!

Also, the little cork pieces are some of my favorite. Perfect to add behind a button, flair, etc.

What an enabler you are! LOL! I doubt if my nearest Michaels will have them but the one I normally go to should. Now I am going to have go have a look see and break my resolution to not buy any new crafting goodies. Oh wait! I already broke that resolution less than two weeks into the New Year.
I like all of them but those ornate canvas stickers are a definite must have. I can using them on vintage projects. Of course the hearts are perfect for this time of the year.

I’d love to see some LYB at my Michael’s but I’m not holding my breath. My closest store never seems to have the “good stuff” that I see on other people’s blogs and YouTube videos.
