It’s a booooat!

Ahoy, crafty friends! Anyone out there enjoying the lovely weather? I have seen some photos of people with snow, so.. don’t start throwing snowballs at me if you’re one of the snowy places, but we’ve been having picture perfect spring weather here! I am loving it! Time for a spray tan so I don’t hurt peoples eyes with the pasty whiteness that grows below my waistline that I call ‘legs’.

Anyhow, the Echo Park team has been working on projects with the new ‘A Perfect Summer’ collection designed by Lori Whitlock.. and it is FAB! Anchors are everywhere right now.. and as most things I talk about.. I’m loving them! I need one for my bathroom!…. and for that body I have in the closet.

What….?

I meant like.. a faux anchor tattoo or something…

This project will sit happily in my craft room to be admired by all who enter it… *back pats*.

OK, I have a child to go pick up from the bus stop.. but before I go, another back pat for me because I’m featured at Two Peas today! I am always shocked and surprised when this happens. I see my projects up there and I’m all like, “Who dis crazy cat that copied me.. oh, hell naw!”.. then I realize it’s MINE!

LOL….

Pretty cool, pretty.darn.cool. I also just saw it in their newsletter… coolness to the max, baby!

Life is the bubbles! Pebbles ‘Party with Amy Locurto’ project

Hey there, friends! Happy Monday! I am FINALLY sharing my project I made with the adorable Pebbles product featured in my last What I’m Working With Wednesday video! (Check it out to see the OTHER goodies in the video!) Hooray! I got kinda busy this weekend so ‘extra’ projects had to be set aside while I finished up some ‘work’.

I think this came out so darn cute.. too cute, really! I love the cartoony look and colors. Now I for sure know I need to order more! I hate that I am drawn to so many styles of product. I love clean, fun, cutesy (like Doodlebug) I love designs somewhere in between (Echo Park, American Crafts (Pebbles) Little Yellow Bicycle, Simple Stories, etc.) and I love things that are more vintage (October Afternoon, Crate Paper..) This is a problem because I think I need.it.all. There are very few companies out thaere that I wouldn’t want to build a house with all their products and live in it…. I could totally make a couch outta Thickers! lol

Anyhow, here’s what I made, design details are posted below the pictures.

Here’s some design tips for ya:

Pebbles papers and stickers
I cut the card base from the Wet n Wild SVG Cuts kit. The front panel is cut with acetate and I filled it up with some chunky Doodlebug glitter. I made a special light blue border to go around the edges to cover the edge of my acetate, plus it just made it look more put together. It’s the details, peeps.. the details!
Over the white bubble stickers I added some glossy accents.. eeeek! I forgot how much I like this stuff on things like bubbles and such. I need to make more bubble projects!
The little sand dollar box is so.stinkin.cute. It’s also from SVG Cuts Wet n Wild kit! I sized it down a bit. The sand dollar is cut with Doodlebug sugar coated paper. Perfect look for a sand dollar! (I’m totally saying in my head, “A sand dollar, make me hollar!” lol I added some stickers, twine, and a button

That’s it! Makes me excited for summer… although, my body is a hot mess so that just means I need to get busy working out more. OK.. there’s actually nothing ‘hot’ about it, I’m just a darn mess… *wiggles arms* SEE! What IS that?.. *flap, flap, flap*

*le sigh*

Time for me to head outta here! You all take it easy.. I am off to ‘work’ some more! Lots of fun projects in the works and I can’t wait to share! Lots of goodies coming the first week of April!

Gettin’ fruity! A bushel basket with 3D fruit & mini note cards!

This week on the Doodlebug Blog (be sure to stop by the DB blog for a GIVEAWAY!!) we are featuring the delicious FRUIT STAND collection! This collection is SO cute! LOVE the pops of purple, the little cute fruits, everything! I could just eat it all up! Nom-nom-nom.

*smiles* do I have any Doodle-Pops stuck in my teeth?…

So, of course with this collection I right away think FRUIT! So I wanted to make a fruit basket.. then decided to make little note cards for them to make it a little more special and unique.

Now, seriously.. is that not adorable?… I really think it’s one of my favorite projects so far this year!

I used Doodlebug’s Create-a-Card system for my note cards. Quick? Easy? Cutenes overload? check. CHECK!

That cherry card is my fav! I LOVE that Doodle-Pop sticker. The ‘So Sweet’ sentiment is done with rub-ons.. which I’ve come to.. you guessed it, LOVE! lol

I stuck a brad over a button here… kinda cute, eh?

There’s another Doodle-Pop! (the sun.. so cute!) ’Sweet Summer’ flags stuck onto wood picks and tucked behind the bow. These cute fruits sure do make this a SWEET project.

To make this sweetness yourself, here’s what you’ll need:

Bushel Basket Cutting File by Lori Whitlock (She most likely will have the non-Silhouette cutting file version in her actual store.
3D fruit. HERE and HERE
3D bow FREE from SVG CUTS
A sheet of kraft paper for the basket
Fruit Stand 6×6 pad and collection kit. (or just pick and choose by the sheet.
Sticker sheet and you’ll put THESE jewels over some of the grapes.
This & That stickers
‘Fruit Stand seals
Fruit Stand tags
Doodlepops these and these. Plus the cherry which is an older Doodlepop.
Twine
You’ll also need some rub-ons or stand/alphas, pearls, and buttons.
Basket stuffing

I believe that’s everything! You can also make this your own twist with what you have on hand!

A chick and a winner!

That blog title Sounds like a weird children’s book.. lol

Um.. Sooo.. this big ‘ol tough guy with feathers of steel was created with Doodlebug Designs goodies! I used the orange and yellow ‘petite prints’ basics. The black mini brads were perfect sized ‘eyes’. The bow-tie is a FREE FILE and cut with a blue polka dot pattern from ‘Hello Spring’. Even the twine for his little fluff is from Doodlebug!

“Hush, Gustavo!.. Be glad I didn’t give you a comb-over!….. perhaps a mullet?..”

In case you didn’t hear Gustavo, he was asking why I didn’t give him a Justin Beiber hairstyle. ‘Gustavo Fever’ just doesn’t have the same ring to it.

OK.. enough with that chicken nugget!!

Showing off some gorgeous LYB ‘Just Because’ collection!

Hey there! I’m back with Little Yellow Bicycle as a ‘Just Because’ cycling team member! You can check out the blog post HERE. Scroll through the LYB blog and see all the fabulous designs by the DT and cycling team! So much inspiration.

This collection is quite lovely! It has a unique color palette.. A bit different from the ‘norm’. A coral-ish red, navy blue, small touches of lavender… really nice!

The moment I saw it all in person I knew I wanted to make something with a coffee or tea theme. I am ALWAYS inspired by the theme of papers/stickers. So, I made a tea cup! Almost looks real with the added saucer!

I added a dowel with some pretty rosettes, chipboard, 3D bow and stick pins. Fun, huh? You can make one too with the SVG Cuts Tea For You and Me kit. Add some bags of tea, cookies, etc. for a perfect gift!

Next up is a cute and simple vellum strip card. I LOVE LYB’s vellum strips!

I love how much there is to play with in the Just Because collection! You really can take it so many different ways from girlie and cute, vintage, Valentine-ish, etc.

Guess who’s a newly 30 year old? ME! My birthday was yesterday and I gotta say.. saying “I am 30″ is gonna take some getting use to.

All of a sudden I am noticing all these creases on my forehead.. GAH! I am 30.. not 100!

Today’s blog post is gonan be a quick one. I am sharing this card I made from SVG Cuts’ new Five Minute Cards SVG Kit. They are quick, easy, and eye-catching! I LOVE them! Because really.. sometimes ya just need a cool handmade card right.now. I went with the ‘I LIKE YOU’ card.

Of course the inner complicated person in me wanted to jazz up this card even more.. but then it wouldn’t be so ‘five minute’. So, I just added some quick stitching and a couploe stickers to make it ‘mine’.

Echo Park ‘SCOOT’ Birthday Truck

I have been so excited to share this project using Echo Park’s SCOOT collection!

I created this back for EP’s booth at winter CHA… It’s really hard for me to not share things right away! Anyone else like that?

Scoot is such an amazing boys collection! I was SO inspired by the cute papers and stickers. I thought a cute birthday boy centerpiece would be fantastic.. but what shall I make?

Of course I fall back to my trusty SVG Cuts files! The Ryan’s Play Date SVG Kit has a perfectly adorable little truck.. and then my birthday boy truck was born! (After a rough 1.5hrs of labor.. pain med free, too!.. LOL!)

So, here it is.. vroom-vroooom!

DESIGN NOTE: Cut the SVG Cuts truck files AS SIZED. I added a button over each wheel and little star stickers on the headlights. You can also use acetate for the windows so they are clear!

CUTE, CUUUUTE! Seriously. What little boy wouldn’t LOVE this?!

I added some gumballs in the back.. The back of the truck is perfect for little treats.

I wanted to jazz it up even more, so I added a rosette onto a dowel and adhered it inside the truck. Added a touch of twine, buttons, ‘flying’ plane, and some more stickers.. The perfect finishing touch!

When I was working on this project I thought of all the cute party decor you could make! Hats, cupcake wrappers, etc. You could get the digital collection and print away all the papers you’d need! I seriously love how Echo Park papers are just SO inspiring to me.

Yummy treat ideas for Valentines Day!

Hello there!

What an eventful weekend I had! I mentioned the other day that my hubby was sick.. well he ended up going to the hospital and being admitted! He’s doing much better now and he is home and resting. He should be going back to work tomorrow so that’s good. Needless to say I didn’t have time to fiddle with my blog over the weekend.

Anyhow, today I am sharing TWO delicious Doodlebug treat packaging ideas! The design team has been very busy with the new Lovebirds collection! Hopefully you’ve had time to stop by the BLOG and see them all.. LOTS of inspiration going on over there.

First off I have a darling lollipop treat box. I found these adorable little heart shaped lollipops and knew I just had to make a project with them.. plus I don’t care for suckers, so the chance of me eating them are slim to none! When I buy M&M’s, etc. for ‘projects’…. yeah… ‘projects’…

‘Project’ GET IN MAH BELLAY!.. LOL!

I wish I had some fake candy that looked REAL. Heck, I would probably still find a way to eat it! lol. Anyhow, back to the lollipop box.. I used the cute ‘glove box’ file from SVG Cuts’ Mother’s Garden kit. I added on a cute scalloped window so you can see the cute lollipops inside. I decorated it and it came together as this:

Back pats to me for the whole photo staging too.. I think it came out super cute! I actually made that heart banner in the back with die cut felt hearts.

I really love the scalloped edges on this box.

For the lollipops I added some washi tape to the stick.. so cute! Yes, Doodlebug has WASHI TAPE now! And it’s awesome!!! The little love notes were perfect tags to add on. With a little twine bow and a small button.. too cute!

Next is this sweet cupcake baggie. This is a cutting file from the Silhouette store. I added on some heart jewels to look like little sprinkles. I can not get over how many embellishments Doodlebug makes. I have it all set up in my Ikea cart and it looks like a miniature candy store with all the COLOR.

So here’s my cute cupcake treat bag:

Looks good enough to eat, right?.. nom-nom-nom.

There’s some more of that cute washi tape! I am a sucker for polka dots!

So what do ya think? Have you snagged yourself some Doodlebug Lovebirds yet? There’s only TEN days left until Valentines day! My hubby and I don’t really play into the ‘Hallmark holiday’ crap.. BUT I do play it up for my kids! I wasn’t able to do their little ‘love party’ for them this past weekend.. sick hubby.. plus my oldest daughter was with her dad and I don’t want her left out, so.. it’s on for this coming weekend! I will be sure to share pics for those that care to see what we are up to over here.

Vintage Birthday Toy Train – An SVG Cuts project

I am WAY too excited to share this with you all! I’m totally looking like a crazy baboon jumping around right now from excitement.. sans the funky red bottoms they have. (What’s up with that anyways?)

OK. I lie. I am just sitting here sipping on coffee and itching to run off and play with some new Doodlebug goodies I just got delivered!

So.. let’s get rolling with this blog post, shall we?

I created this super, SUPER cute ‘vintage’ birthday toy train for SVG Cuts! This thing seriously has to be one of my top 10 favorite projects… and from the looks of it on SVG Cuts Facebook page, you all love it too! Cheers to that! *holds coffee up* *cling* (not too hard though, don’t wanna spill even a drip of this precious Starbucks white mocha!). So, for those that are not on Facebook, or may have missed it.. here it is!

TA-DA!!!

All together now…. “Awwwwww!”

This giraffe is just so cute! Mary from SVG Cuts makes the cutest little cutting files! I actually requested the ‘jungle’ themed Wild Child collection awhile back.. I started something with them and just wasn’t feeling it. I am glad I was finally able to use them in a project!

Everything is connected with a mustard yellow jute cord and buttons.

I love these little star balloons! You can have one if you’d like!

This lion is just hanging out on the back! Probably hoping there’s a fat juicy steak in the gift box!

Funny thing about this lion, he only has one eye.

I know what you’re saying… “No… I see TWO!”.. Crazy Tamara!

SEE! lol! I only had 3 dark brown buttons so either the giraffe or lion had to go without one.

I’m sorry Mr. Lion. Doesn’t mean I love you any less! I knew with that gorgeous flowing mane that you’d be able to pull off the one-eyed look!

Thankfully my Photoshop skills kicked in and I just Photoshopped another right on!

I’ve got skills, peeps! Least I know if I ever lose an eye I can just clone one back on in Photoshop… Wish this worked in real life, lol!

SVG Cuts stamps now available at UNITY!

If ya love stamping.. this post is for you! (and even if you don’t love stamping.. keep reading! I mean.. you’re already here anyways, right?)

My friends at SVG Cuts have teamed up with Unity Stamp Co. to bring you some super cool stamps! This is quite exciting! Why? Because SVG Cuts was actually going to discontinue their stamp line. Waaah! But not anymore!

I always say I am not much of a stamper.

Do you see a pattern here on my blog..?

“I’m not much of a card maker..”

“I’m not much of a scrapbooker”

……… *blink-blink*

“Then what DO you do, woman?!”

Hoard.

I hoard crafty supplies.

.. and cookie cutters. Really. I have probably 150-175 cookie cutters.

Anyhow, even though I am “not much of a stamper”…. I subscribe to two of Unity’s kit clubs. I get the Stamp of the Week (because something about those itty bittys in my mail box weekly just makes me HAPPY!) and then I also get the Kit of the Month. I love the quality of these stamps! The are red rubber stamps mounted on cling foam. Quality!

And to prove what a non-seasoned stamper I am.. I had no idea to ‘season’ your stamps you can rub an eraser over them! What the?.. I thought the stamps stamped cleanly enough at first.. and then after I did the eraser trick I was like, “Marry me, you lovely crisp stamp!”.

Well, it was something liek that. I was quite amused.

So, being on the SVG Cuts team I thought I should show some support and get my stamps inked up! Right now there are only two SVG Cuts sets available.. with more to come! I used the ‘U.R.cool’ sentiment stamp from All You Need Is Love kit! (On sale right now for $10.99!!) and the owl from the January KOTM (So cute!). The tree brances are from Unity ‘Naturally You’ and the hearts are another monthly kit “All You Need…”

Do you see that little ‘jump’ in my stitching?

That’s what happens when a wild beast dog jumps onto your lap when you have the sewing machine going. Egh!

Gives it character I suppose. lol.

Is this owl not the cuuutest? He’s rockin’ those shades! As soon as I got my KOTM I just knew I would (eventually) use him.. He’s great for paper piecing!

The papers are a mix of a few different October Afternoon sets. Brads are October Afternoon Woodland Park.
