Well, well.. look who it is.. I’ve been expecting you! Yes, really!! Did you bring me coffee? You DID?! Awesome.

Here we are, another round of a fabulous design team blog hop with the Carta Bella girls! I hope you’ve been inspired and have loved the projects you’ve seen so far!

Today I have a vacation photo box to share. This was super quick and fun to create. I used the AMAZING ‘Well Traveled’ collection for this. This collection has got to be one of the best travel lines I’ve seen! I love the colors and vintage feel to the graphics. To create this I used a Lori Whitlock cutting file which you can find HERE.

Purty darn cool! And totally useful! You can make several ‘themes’ to store extra photos that may not make it to scrapbook albums and such. Perfect!

I am pretty much in love with this camera die cut. I got the shape in the Silhouette store. Added the ‘New York’ sticker with an Epiphany Crafts epoxy over it to create a ‘lens’. Then I added on some tiny brads and gray cord to make a camera strap. Um, yeah. Hello awesome idea! So happy to have met you!  You should come around more often!

*high five* for scrumptious embellies! I am so into brads right now. I think I might just start calling my husband Brad. Yeah. That’ll work.

Did’ja know Carta Bella’s ‘Well Traveled’ collection has WASHI TAPE! I added a little taste of it here and there to my box. Those cool roller stamps (arrows and cameras) are from Glitz Design. Really neat and I am glad I snagged them!

Alrighty, now for my BONUS giveaway. I am giving away a Well Traveled 6×6 paper pad, layered stickers, AND a pack of three washi tapes! I will chose a winner from my blog comments AND Facebook page. Here’s how it will work. When selecting the winner I will count blog comments first and my Facebook WALL COMMENTS. So if you follow me on Facebook and post to my wall that will get you an extra entry!

  • Go to my FACEBOOK PAGE. Click ‘like’ (if you haven’t already)… post something to my FACEBOOK WALL; that you are a follower, say hello,  leave me a smiley face, tell me your credit card info (LOL)..etc. The comment must be posted between 2/21 and 3/1. YAY! Good luck!

SVG Cuts stamps now available at UNITY!

If ya love stamping.. this post is for you! (and even if you don’t love stamping.. keep reading! I mean.. you’re already here anyways, right?)

My friends at SVG Cuts have teamed up with Unity Stamp Co. to bring you some super cool stamps! This is quite exciting! Why? Because SVG Cuts was actually going to discontinue their stamp line. Waaah! But not anymore!

I always say I am not much of a stamper.

Do you see a pattern here on my blog..?

“I’m not much of a card maker..”

“I’m not much of a scrapbooker”

……… *blink-blink*

“Then what DO you do, woman?!”

Hoard.

I hoard crafty supplies.

.. and cookie cutters. Really. I have probably 150-175 cookie cutters.

Anyhow, even though I am “not much of a stamper”…. I subscribe to two of Unity’s kit clubs. I get the Stamp of the Week (because something about those itty bittys in my mail box weekly just makes me HAPPY!) and then I also get the Kit of the Month. I love the quality of these stamps! The are red rubber stamps mounted on cling foam. Quality!

And to prove what a non-seasoned stamper I am.. I had no idea to ‘season’ your stamps you can rub an eraser over them! What the?.. I thought the stamps stamped cleanly enough at first.. and then after I did the eraser trick I was like, “Marry me, you lovely crisp stamp!”.

Well, it was something liek that. I was quite amused.

So, being on the SVG Cuts team I thought I should show some support and get my stamps inked up! Right now there are only two SVG Cuts sets available.. with more to come! I used the ‘U.R.cool’ sentiment stamp from All You Need Is Love kit! (On sale right now for $10.99!!) and the owl from the January KOTM (So cute!). The tree brances are from Unity ‘Naturally You’ and the hearts are another monthly kit “All You Need…”

Do you see that little ‘jump’ in my stitching?

That’s what happens when a wild beast dog jumps onto your lap when you have the sewing machine going. Egh!

Gives it character I suppose. lol.

Is this owl not the cuuutest? He’s rockin’ those shades! As soon as I got my KOTM I just knew I would (eventually) use him.. He’s great for paper piecing!

The papers are a mix of a few different October Afternoon sets. Brads are October Afternoon Woodland Park.

And while I have you here, SVG Cuts released a NEW kit! This one is sure gonna be a rootin’ tootin’ good time! Check it out! It’s yours FREE this week with a purchase of $9.98 or more with the code FREEGIFT

Get the Happy Trails SVG Kit!

Yeah. That’s a 3D BOOT, folks!

YEE-HAW!

OK, I’m outta here! Have a nice weekend! I’m gonna shine up ‘mah spurs and ride off into the sunset!

I really wish I had a cowskin print vest right now. *sad face*

Chalkin’ it up!

Happy Saturday! The first weekend of the new year! What are you all up to? Me.. crafting! Finishing up the last of my projects for CHA for Echo Park and Carta Bella. I’ve made several super cute things for the booths and I can’t wait to share!  Any of my blog reader friends going to CHA?

So, I got slightly sidetracked working on my CHA projects and decided to make a little ‘chalkboard’ card. I have seen these around here and there and love the look so of course I had to give it a try. How hard can it be? Slap some white ink onto a stamp and go to town on some black paper.

Eh.. not so much.

My Brilliance brand pigment ink is not so.. brilliant. It stamps on the black as a icky grey color. After a quick Google search trying to figure out why my white was not WHITE.. I learned that I should use craft ink. Well, whatever. I don’t have no stinkin’ craft ink! I ended up coming to terms with my inky issues and realized my muted white ‘chalk’ look wasn’t so bad afterall. It was my first try so it is what it is…

… And it’s a wanna-be cool chalkboard card. lol

Meh.

What the heck is ‘craft ink’ anyways. Helllloooooo, people. I used my ‘regular’ ink on crafts.

Ink + crafts = craft ink. Am I missing something here? What kind of confuzzled mess is this world coming to? “No.. you need to use CRAFT ink..” “No.. not that ink you always use for CRAFTING”…”I mean REAL craft ink.. the crafty kind!”

Shut it! Just shut.it.

*currently looking on Amazon for proper craft ink…*

Anyhow, to give myself a littele more credit, it does look better in person! The ‘PARTY’ stamp looks fuzzy in the photo, but in person it’s pretty crisp and looks cute colored in!

So, if anyone wants to make a wanna-be chalkboard card like me with your non-’craft ink’ ink.. here’s some tips!

  • 1). Go buy proper craft ink

lol..

OK, really now.. All ya need is some white ink of some sort, light grey ink, a card base, black paper, stamps, and some colored pencils. I used white, pink, teal, and yellow. I really think the colored pencils added in give it a true chalkboard feel.

  • Start by laying out your stamps over the black cardstock so you can kinda see how you will fill in the gaps a bit. I didn’t really ‘cram’ stamps onto my card and it still looks cute!
  • Using a ruler and white colored pencil, create a border. I found it looks much cuter with a border.

  • Ink up your stamps and.. well.. STAMP! (Who woulda thought it, right?)
  • Let the ink dry and then add some little touches of color with colored pencils. I drew some confetti and ‘streamers’. Cute, cute!

  • Now you’ll add the ‘chalk dust’. The ‘dust’ looks better done with light grey ink. I did white at first and was like, “Did that just happen!? That looks like crud!” (I hate to start over on a project, so to show that card who was boss I had to rip it into a million pieces and slam it into the trash like yesterday’s scraps!)

I am pretty sure I just heard a loud ‘gasp’ from you..”this chick tosses her scraps?!!!!”

No, I really don’t. My kids usually steal them for their projects.

  • Use a sponge to lightly rub in some ink.. Be gentle.. the paper is sensitive you know.

Looks nifty!

That’s pretty much it! VERY simple and a funky-cool look! This would be fun for tags, etc. I secretly want to make a few more, but I have to keep priorities straight. Back to ‘work’ for me! CHA is coming up fast!

I hope you all have a great weekend! *waves*

A TREE-mendous tree card!

Hello! Happy Monday!

I’m just doing a quickee card share today. Hoping not to start my blabbering and randomness since I have things I should be doing other than blogging. What?… No.. that’s not my son you hear asking for lunch. Must be the neighbors parrot or sumthin’.

Just between you and me.. my neighbors don’t have a parrot.

Anyhow, I had this little idea for a ‘branch’ tree card for awhile.. like.. a whole 3 days. lol. It looked cute in my mess of a head so I was excited to try it out.. and what-do-ya-know.. it came out pretty cute! Very quick and easy to make, too!

I just used the little branch from SVG Cuts ‘Spirits of Christmas Past SVG Kit’ (in the extras folder) and made various sizes. I lightly glued them into position and then stitched down the center to create the tree. Neat-o! *high five*

The papers are from Simple Stories ‘Handmade Holiday’ and the stamps are Lawn Fawn (snowman and snowflakes) and Unity (sentiment).

Isn’t that snowman adorbs?.. I want him life sized in my house!

That’s it!

Wow.. “Hey, Ma! Look at me… finished a blog post without causing my readers finger cramps from scrolling!”

I feel like I need to say something else.. it’s tooooo shoooooort…

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

I have two little projects and a recipe to share.. oh, yes! It’s that time of year! All our butts will grow two sizes and I am here to help! No need to thank me.

But just in case you’re lookin’ forward to a more round back side…. You’re welcome.

First up I have this DARLING snowman container. This doesn’t have too much Echo Park going on, but that’s ok! That’s why I have two projects to share. For both my projects I used Echo Park Paper’s ‘This & That Christmas’. So lovely!

I mean seriously. I die. How CUTE is this? Look at this face! Looook!

To create this I used my Sizzix eclips cutting machine and the SVG Cuts kit,  Christmas Open House. I absolutely love how this snowman goes together! A perfect sized treat container, too! I cut the body out with Carta Bella kraft cardstock which is GREAT for die cutting. It’s nice and thick and holds shape very well. I used some Echo Park clear stamps (Holly Jolly Christmas and Season’s Greetings from 2011) to stamp brown snowflakes all over. The idea of this was inspired by my friend Thienly (since she recently did a kraft paper snowman), and also the banana bread packaging that I am about to share..

Yup! ‘nana bread packaging.. here it is! Mmmmmmm! Smells SO good! If you wanna smell some too.. I am going to share the recipe with ya in a bit! Until then, feel free to lick your computer screen.

A big yummy loaf of greatness!

Yes, folks.. dust off that paper crimping tool! I love mine and especially love it over kraft cardstock! Made a beautiful textured bread wrap. Love the look of the brown stamped snowflakes all over.

See that ’25′ flair? That’s from my little flair shop, Paper Play Studio! You can find it in the December Daily 8pk of flair!

And TODAY (Monday 11/19) is the last day to use the code ILOVEPPS for the buy 2 get 1 free deal! This is my LAST sale of the year!  Check out my FACEBOOK page for more details or head on over to the store to check out all my FLAIR!

Sooooo.. here’s where I ask ya, “What did ya think?.. You likey?”..

I hope I’ve inspired ya.. and if not.. I hope you leave here with a craving for banana bread at least! LOL!

Not inspired and hate bananas? Well, you’re just no fun then!

I am kidding of course.. You’re still fun…. ish.

 *wink*

Preheat that oven, y’all and find some practically rotten bananas!

Here’s the RECIPE I use. I do make it my ‘own’ though. I use 1 tablespoon of cinnamon and 4 VERY ripe smallish/medium bananas (mash ‘em reaaaally good.) And people, for the love of muffin tops, use REAL butter! It makes all the difference in your baking. Oh.. and I do 1/2c brown sugar and a 1/2c white sugar. PERFECTO! This recipe is FABULOUS and peeps ask me all.the.time how to make it.

Now that I’ve rambled, threw some photos at ya, and made you hungry, I will send you off to the sweet and talented Linda Auclair

If you happen to stumble upon my blog, or ya lost your way.. here’s the hop list! Remember to leave comments for a chance to WIN!! PLEASE try to remember to leave a way to contact you. If you enter your email address for my blog, it will NOT show up when you post. Only I will see it….. and I only send SPAM emails for discounted Viagra to people who don’t like bananas.

That’s it! Have a great week!

Huh.. just realizing that someday someone might Google ‘discounted Viagra’ and end up on my blog.. LOL! “I don’t have that, but here’s a very exciting paper snowman to look at!!”

Great Impressions Stamps and Echo Park Paper DT blog hop!

Lookie who it is! JUST who I’ve been waiting for.. YOU! *waves*

Welcome to the Great Impressions Stamps/Echo Park Paper Design Team Blog Hop! Today the Echo Park Paper Design Team and Great Impressions Stamps Design Team are showcasing projects from our latest collections. Be sure to follow the blog hop list below as you hop from one blog to the next. ONE winner will be selected from EACH blog to receive an Echo Park Paper collection kit of their choosing, and a set of two stickable stamps from Great Impressions Stamps.   To qualify for the kit and stamps, comments will be due by midnight EST, Sunday, October 21st to qualify for the drawing. The winner will be announced on each blog Monday, October 22nd so be sure to check back to see if you’ve won. (Mine may be a day or two late..) I am also going to throw in this flair collection from my shop, Paper Play Studio! This has been one of my best sellers, it’s beaaaautiful!

If you’ve just stumble upon my blog, you will want to start at the top of this blog hop list! You don’t want to miss any projects, right? Let’s not forget the multiple chances to WIN!

I had a lot of fun working with these cute stamps from Great Impressions Stamps! They are GREAT quality and stamp very clean, as I am sure you’ve noticed from the designers before me! I used Echo Park Paper’s ‘This and That Christmas’.. So just by using those stamps and that paper, it’s automatically a kick butt project!.. Right? *nods*

I made a cute card and gift box set! I think my blog name should be ‘Happy Life, allimakeisboxes’. LOL. If you are a regular around here you know how I love me some packaging. I always have a gift or treat to give.. yet when it comes time to giving, I don’t wanna give out my ‘cool’ stuff, lol.

Here’s my project! Ooooh… Ahhhhh… Ahhh-chooo! (sorry that sneeze snuck in there.. )

Awww, yuh! Not bad for a last minute project, eh.. ehhhhh?… Go me! (Totally was busy this past week/weekend and had to get a project done the day before this hop started.. got this lovely set done in about 1.5hrs… Two points for me!)

Not sure what the ‘points’ are all about.. but it sounded good.

100 points to you for being here! You can get yourself a giant sticky ‘slap hand with that! (You know.. all those cheap crud toys that are worth five cents.. yet you spend $20 in tickets for it? lol)

Anyhow, check out the cute dark brown snowflake stamps on the woodgrain paper! It’s so subtle.. unlike myself.

This darling gift box was created by cutting the ‘glove box’ file from SVG Cuts ‘Mothers Garden’ SVG Kit! It’s fabulous and a perfect size! (although I switched up the top and added in stars in my eCal cutting software)  This would be great for cookies, etc.

I think I say ALL my packaging ideas are great for treats and cookies.. LOL. Soooomebody likes treats!

Really though.. what else can I say?

“This is the perfect box for your gum wrappers, nose hair trimmings, and used toothpicks!”

Yeah. Treats it is!

This card is ‘the card the wasn’t suppose to be’… I was stamping on a Canvas bag and felt like a turd. I JUST made some canvas stamped bags and my regular blog readers might start to get bored with me. “Hey, Tamara.. While you’re stamping on that 100,000th canvas bag, why don’t ya shove your head it in?.. Booooring”. So, to prevent this, I cut up the bag and slapped it onto a card base after I frayed the edges and stitched around them. Add on some ribbon, button, brad, and a sticker.. why.. You have yourself a cool and unique card! Yes.. I amaze myself! I love when things just ‘happen’. I thought the card needed something with it, so while resisting the urge to stamp 20,001 more canvas bags for my project, I made the gift box.

Are you tired of my rambling yet? I am sure you’d loooove me to ramble on for days, but I have some trash TV ‘reality’ shows calling me from my DVR… “Taaaaaamara.. come watch us so you can feel better about yourself” I can choose from Hoarders, or New Jersey Housewives. lol. Both? Me thinks so!

I will now send ya off to Jennifer I am sure she will have some lovely stamped yumminess for you!

And since I am soooo close to my 3,000 followers on FACBOOK.. will you please come ‘like’ me if you wanna be a cool kid? It’s true.. My followers are the coolest around! Dooo iiiiiit! *smiles* I promise not to sneeze on you anymore.

Feel free to pin my project! My green ‘pin it’ link is not working, but you can use that snazzy gray/red one! THANKS!

It just wouldn’t be a Fa-BOO-Lous week without some TRENDY TWINE!

Day four of my Fa-BOO-Lous Halloween week and we’re still going strong with awesome giveaways and amazing projects! So much fun on one blog.. how is this possible?.. lol *wink*

So, you all might have seen me mention Trendy Twine in.. oh.. every post so far this week! This is my ‘go to’ twine. I am picky about my twine. I don’t like it too thick, I don’t like it to get fuzzy.. and I don’t like it to unravel too easily. Is that asking too much? I mean REALLY now? And with the variety of colors Trendy Twine has, it’s easy to find what you need! When I saw peeks of the new Halloween colors I was SO excited. I had to have them ALL. (Actually going to order a big spool of the grape licorice.. I LOVE it so much!) I love unique colors that not every other twine shop has and Trendy Twine does a great job of keeping things new and fresh!

To show off this yummy twine I brought along some fun and talented guest designers! Six of them! LOL.. So you’re sure to see some fun ways to use twine today. Before we get started PLEASE go show Lesley of Trendy Twine some loooove on FACEBOOK. She’s so sweet and you’ll love seeing all the DT members projects and peeks of new twine, etc. They also have a fun ‘BOO! Too Cute to Spook!’ challenge. You have GOT to see all the cute projects shared! So fun!

OK.. let’s get started with the projects! First up.. you guessed it.. ME!!!! *dances a little jig* <— Blame the wine for that. I see to have awesome dance moves when I have wine. Does that happen with you, too? I thought so.

I kept this project simple. I like squeezing ‘simple’ in here and there. It’s refreshing to know a project doesn’t HAVE to take you hours. I made both of these treat pillow boxes in 30 minutes or so. Which isn’t bad for someone who gets distracted by shiny things. And I have a lot of shiny things around me right now.. one of them being my forehead.. yeah. I need a shower. It’s been a LONG day (Writing this on Wednesday night… Zzzzzzzzz.. Where’s my bed?.. Oh that’s right. It’s being held down by 3 piles of laundry at the moment. Eh. Come fold my laundry! It smells pretty… and I promise to remove all undies for you…. You don’t wanna see those.. or.. do you? Creep. Move along now. This is Fa-BOO-Lous HALLOWEEN week.. not creepy undie peeker week.

.

.

.

.

That’s in December.

Bwahahaha!

*clears throat*

Sooooo.. Anyhow, back to my simple pillow boxes. Stay on task, Tamara! *shakes fist*

Here they are in their twined up cuteness!

I trimmed some paper (Pebbles Tricks & Treats!.. Which I will be using for a guest designer spot with them VERY soon!) to fit around. Cut a spider web border from the Gimme Candy Boxes SVG kit for the bat box. The ghost and bat are cut from the Spooky Cuties SVG collection from SVG Cuts. I added some jewels, Trendy Twine, Flair from Paper Play Studio, and touches of washi tape! The stamps are from My Thoughts Exactly! (Use code MTELUVHLCW for 15% off your order for this Fa-BOO-Lous Halloween week!)

I added some vellum behind the ‘window’ to resemble the moon… but I kinda failed.. and it just looks like.. well… a window with vellum behind it. LOL! *hangs head*

Watch out for that GHOST!

And hey you! Don’t you forget about my Ghostess with the Mostess challenge! Link up a GHOSTY project.. or two for a chance at winning that prize! Only a few linked up right now so get on that… you know you wanna!!

Let’s continue! First up for my talented guest designers is Kerri! She’s a fun crafty friend and also sponsored a Simple Stories collection kit for one of the prizes! She created this cool witch pin! I just love it! Kerri said, “For this project I wanted to step outside of my crafty box and do a little something I don’t do often. I decided on a quick, simple jewelry project with a Halloween theme. This witch pin was created with just a few supplies and turned out so cute. Everyone is going to want to try this one! “

Find Kerri at her Craft Time and Cupcakes! blog.

Next is Sukie! I just LOVE what Sukie did with her mummy! This is totally fun and I know my kids would love to get a card like that! Sukie said, “This mummy card was created using the mummy cut from the Paper Doll Dress Up Cricut cartridge.  I simply wrapped Black Licorice Trendy Twine around the mummy and added some wiggly eyes.  The card was finished off with a tulle bow topped off with a Lime Licorice Trendy Twine bow.”

You can find Sukie’s fun blog HERE. Stop on by because she’s having a giveaway as well! More free stuff? Yes, please!

Dawn is next up! I just love her cute little hanging banner! Wrapping the Trendy Twine around the edge of the frame looks fabulous!…. Oh, waaaait.. Ahem. I meant Fa-BOO-Lous. She did a great job using the Lime and Orange Licorice colors!

You can find Dawn on her blog HERE! Stop by and say hello!

Now it’s the talented Jessica’s turn! I love Jessica’s work and am happy to have her here! So here’s another awesome project for some twine flingin’ inspiration.. She created this cool decor piece, an altered candle! CUTE! Jessica said, “My lame babble: I made a fun Frankenstein candle last year for Halloween and it was a big hit. So this year I decided to make something a little more cute! I stamped on some burlap using My Thoughts Exactly’s Fright Night Friends stamps and wrapped it around a candle. Then I tied a little Trendy Twine around the top of the burlap. I used lime licorice, grape licorice, and orange licorice Trendy Twine. I used the matching Fright Night Friends SVGs to cut out the ghost, bats, and moon. I wanted the Trendy Twine colors to pop so I left all the Fright Night Friends kraft color. My little ghost friend is on a wobble so he moves a little bit. And of course the bats are flying around the moon thanks to some twisted wire.”

So awesome! I love the pop of color with the twine! You can find Jessica on her blog HERE.. and she’s also on FACEBOOK! Stop by and give her a ‘like’ You’ll love her work!

Workin’ our way down this list of awesomeness.. we are now to Jamie! I just love what Jamie made as she used some SVG Cuts! This shoe is FABULOUS! So easy to put together! Here’s what Jamie had to say, “I made a Witch’s Shoe Treat Box from SVGcuts, decorated with Lime and Grape Licorice Trendy Twine and some Jaded Blossom Stamps.”

You can find Jamie’s lovely work in a few places! So get to stalkin’.. er. I mean following!

Her BLOG – Her FACEBOOK – Her PINTEREST

Hmm. Does this come in a size 7?

Heehee..

Can you believe we are to the last project already? You’ve been on this blog post for hours now. Hey, you there.. reading my blog. Nice pajama pants you got on there.. at 2:00 in the afternoon!!!!

I’m just messin’ I will be real with you all. I sit around in jammie, lounge, yoga pants allllll day unless I go somewhere. I HATE being tied up in jeans while at home. A girl needs to breathe! Seriously!

OK, folks.. here’s my last guest designer of the Fa-BOO-Lous week! Yup.. it will be just crazy me all alone tomorrow showing off some DIY decorations I’ve done… and hopefully by then you won’t be thinking about my undies anymore.

Meet Anita! I am so glad she joined me! She made a super unique project that I am sure you all will love! She created a Halloween egg decoration with TWINE.. and lots of it! Anita said, “I used a water balloon and blew it up and then ran through Trendy Twine through watered down Elmers Glue.  I then wrapped it all around the balloon and let it dry overnight.  I popped the balloon and then did my decorating.”

YAY!!! This is the very FIRST Carta Bella DT blog hop! So exciting! I still feel so lucky to have been asked to join this amazing design team with this new awesome company! *pinch me!* I hope you’ve been inspired from some of the projects you’ve seen already!

Today I have a fun treat bag set to share using All Hallows Eve! I Just LOVE a good Halloween collection.. and this one is.. well.. extra, extra good! lol!

So fun! I just got those ghost and spooky tree dies from Sizzix and HAD to use them! I love the look of those ghost floating around on the curled wire. I always say you can tell if it’s my project as it will usually have a die cut, pleated trim, or rosette of some sort… but I think I need to add ‘wire’ to that list. I’ve noticed I’ve been using wire a lot lately!

Here’s some close up shots..

I took the poison label sticker from the All Hallows Eve kit collection and ripped it up a bit and rubbed on some gray ink for a ‘worn’ look. Totally works for this project! I stamped the background of the bag with a Unity distressed dots stamp.

The cute skeleton hand flair button? That’s from my shop, Paper Play Studio!!  And just for you all, I have a special code through this week only for the blog hop, use code CB15 for 15% off of ANYTHING in the shop. Good through Friday, 9/28!

That gray and black twine is my FAVORITE right now for Halloween projects! It’s from Trendy Twine!

And last here’s the CUTE witch hat sucker holder. Fits a Tootsie Pop perfectly! This is a freebie file from SVG Cuts!

Hopefully this has inspired you for some fun Halloween treat packaging ideas!

Don’t forget to leave comments on all the blogs to be entered for a chance to win a Carta Bella kit of your choice! We all are giving away a kit to a lucky winner! Tiem for me to send you on to the next DT member, Pam B.!

Cute and easy treat bag!

Hey! How’s it going?… Did you all have a nice weekend? I have been prepping and getting some ideas together for all my DIY Halloween decorations I have planned! Did you know I have a full week of Halloween fun that’s gonna be happening here in September? (So you have plenty of time to get Halloween projects done!) More info to come later, but I have some sponsors lined up and will have giveaways all week! I am pretty excited! I will have paper crafts, treat ideas, and DIY decor ideas! Hope you’ll stop by!

Anyhow, since I have Halloween on the brain….. “Mmmmm… Braiiiiiiins” I decided to make a cute and SIMPLE treat bag! I pulled out some fun stamps, my Big Shot, circle framelit dies and got busy!

Did I mention it was simple? Sometimes we all NEED simple, right?

I love the stitched twine.. cute stamps and the buttons… and yes, even that black licorice that most people hate!.. lol

Here’s some detail shots on how I made it!

Supplies:

Photobucket

  • To create the window on my bag I inserted a framelit die into the bag with the cuting side facing the front of the bag. Line it up the best you can. I held mine up to the window to see through it and get my placement just right!

Photobucket

  • Emboss a piece of acetate for the window.

Photobucket

  • Eat a Twinkie.

(LOL! Yes.. I was eating a twinkie.. or tried to.. I haven’t had one in awhile and YUCK! Nevermind that mess…)

Photobucket

  • Ink the edges in gray. Colorbox ‘Antique Pewter’ is my FAVORITE gray for Halloween projects!

Photobucket

  • I cut a scalloped frame with my Sizzix eclips from SVG Cuts ‘Scalloped Shapes’ collection. I used a medium circle frame sized to 3.162″. This will fit perfectly over the opening when you use the 3″ framlits die.

Then begin stamping! Embellish with buttons and fill up the bag with treats! (or, if you’re cheap like me and only had 2  1/2 pieces of black licorice).
Photobucket

  • To close up the bag I stitched over the twine on the front and through the bag, and then wraped the twine around and tied a bow with a stamped tag! Cuteness!

That’s it! A cute and fun way to package treats… and use stamps that you may or may not be hoarding.. or.. ‘collecting’.

Oh.. and when I said I used 2 1/2 pieces of licorice.. I wasn’t kidding. Here you can see when it slipped down and exposed it’s ripped apart self! LOL!!!

Look for a post tonight for the Echo Park blog hop winner! :)
