Feels Like Home with LYB!

Hellooooo! Holy craziness it’s been awhile since I’ve updated. I am SO sorry.. I think I said last time I was going to be better about blogging.. then over a month went by.. YIKES! I have SO many projects that I didn’t get a chance to share on my blog. Hopefully you’ve at least seen them on the blogs of the companies I design for. Thankfully, pregnancy is done torturing me and I am feeling SO much better.. back to crafting and all that jazz.. feels good! Now that school is back in session I have time to get back to the good stuff.. crafting, trash TV, and crafting. No more excuses! I have had oodles of emails asking where I am.. if I still blog, etc. yes, people.. I am here.. I’m alive!

So, today I have two LYB projects to share with ya! Right now at LYB we are showing off the delicious fall themed collection, ‘Feels Like Home’. This collection actually reminds me of my grandma’s house on Thanksgiving. I can almost smell the turkey and gravy! So with Thanksgiving on the mind, I created a ‘thankful tree’. This is meant to be a centerpiece and everyone can write something they are thankful for on each leaf. I added a spool to it to make it a little taller. It’s gotta stand out, right? For more details on this project and my supply list, check out THIS LYB blog post.

I just love those accordion folded leaves in the Feels Like Home paper crafting kit! So different.

Next up was a project shared over at the LYB recently.. it’s an altered tray for holding embellishments. I got this tray on sale at Michaels.. really wish I grabbed an extra though (it’s by Graphic 45). I created this with some of the Naturals collection and a touch of Vintage Summer.

And there ya have it!

Whew! Look at me.. made it through a blog post!

Again, I am SO sorry for slacking. Some people mentioned that they’ve stopped by several times only to see I haven’t updated. You don’t have to do that though! You can subscribe to get my blog posts delivered right to your inbox!.. or follow me on bloglovin! (check my sidebar).

OK.. off I go. Have a good one!

Simple Spooky Cutie Cards!

Loves, love, loves it! *hearts fluttering away towards rainbows and bright sun rays… birds chirping*

I know some special little trick or treaters I will be giving these to!

SVG Cuts is rocking Day 3 of the Fa-BOO-Lous week!

Hey, hey! Welcome to day 3 of my Fa-BOO-Lous Halloween Inspiration week! Are you having fun? I sure am… Have you started on Halloween crafts? Have you been making Halloween stuff since.. oh.. I dunno.. JULY like I practically have been? lol. If so.. you’re my kind of people! New best friends? Me thinks so! We need special jackets!

I have been way too excited about this feature! SVG Cuts has been my paper crafty family pretty much from the second week I started this whole paper crafting thing! They were my very first design team..  I remember following their blog thinking, “If only I could craft like that…” I would enter their challenges hoping I would get on their DT… and here I am, two years later! On their wonderful DT, seeing Mary create her amazing kits every week.. salivating at Leo’s awesome photos and videos and being so proud to be on a DT full of these AMAZINGLY talented women. My friends… My crafty family *hearts fluttering*. Most of you know I flew out to Chicago this past summer and actually stayed with Mary and Leo (owners of SVG Cuts) at their beautiful home. They are some of the coolest people… hopefully they think I am pretty cool, too. Just don’t tell ‘em I tried to kidnap their cat. (LOL JK!)

While I was there I also got to meet the fabulous Thienly and Fleurette who are also on the DT! I had met Corri this past January at Winter CHA (and also saw her in Chicago!)  It really is the coolest thing to meet all these ‘internet friends’ in person.. Like.. “Oh, HI.. so you ARE real!” lol! I wish we could have all met up! What a party that would be!… Especially with me there.. hellllloo! LOL!

So, here I am.. showing some of the newest kits/collections from SVG Cuts with three fellow SVG Cuts designers. Amy, Corri, and Thienly. I am so happy they’ve joined me.. and really, really happy they made great projects! (Why wouldn’t they? lol They rock socks!) A special thank you to the three of them… and an even bigger thank you to Mary and Leo for dealing with my craziness and keeping me around! I can be a bit… odd.

Let’s get this going.. no more mushy crud. No mushy crud allowed during this spooky Fa-BOO-Lous Halloween week! Release the ghosts and zombies and let’s get started!

First up is ME!!! I decided to go a different route with SVG Cuts files and NOT do a paper craft. I was inspired by a fellow (and way too talented) SVG Cuts DT member, Brigit. She recently made some iron on decal bags.. LOVED them. So, I stole her idea and made my own version! When SVG Cuts released the Spooky Cuties collection I about died. I LOVE them. I don’t think I’ve stopped touching them since, LOL! I have a few projects in the works with these little cuties on them and just can’t wait to share!

My project.. TA-DA!!! A Trick or Treat bag! Don’t even try to pretend this is not adorable. It’s stinkin’ adorable!

I took a simple plain bag from State Line Bag Company, and turned it into this little masterpiece! A customized Trick or Treat bag! I added on some orange zig-zag stitching to the edges, a frayed ruffle trim with buttons and some Trendy Twine and then ironed on some decals I printed. The Spooky Cuties SVG Cuts collection actually comes with PRINTABLES! Yes, folks.. buy yourself some iron on decal paper (I used Avery brand) and you can easily make these too!

How cute are those cuties?

So, carrying on with the Spooky Cuties, and me trying to make awesome stuff.. is my next project! This is another fun one and non paper crafty. I always love to give ‘seasonal’ little gifts to my kids. Yes, they are slightly spoiled.. and I am just too fun, so this is what I do :) I got them all sorts of Halloween themed goodies, lots of craft supplies, jammies, books, shirts, etc. and I needed something to put it all in.. or.. umm.. some of it since I went overboard. I picked up this large bucket from the Dollar Tree (so only $1.00!) and I ordered some Silhouette double sided adhesive paper and decided to make my own glitter stickers to decorate it with. I chose the skeleton dude since he would be the easiest to make. I ran out of white glitter so I just used white vinyl for his ‘bones’. The black part is all glittered. I REALLY like how this came out. Super easy to make! Just cut like you would a paper pieced file, peel off the top layer, add glitter, then peel off the backing and adhere to the bucket! It’s really strong adhesive too! Here it is!

So, sooo fun! Here are a few close up shots… and a shot of the whole set up together!

(ignore my hot glue mess, lol)

And ‘the’ set up! Needless to say they were so excited!!! And of course it wouldn’t have been the same without that custom gift basket!

OK, OK.. enough about me! Let’s move on to these amazing guest designers.. My SVG Cuts friends!!! *back flip* Make sure you stop by their blogs.. they are each having their OWN giveaway! Keep reading to see what goodies they’re giving away.. plus see what I am giving away! It’s more ‘fall’ themed and not so Halloweenie. :) YAY!

First up is Amy. She’s such a sweetie.. so fun and so very talented with her collages and scrapbook pages! Amy blogs over at Aim it Up. Stop by and see more of her project, plus she is giving away a giftcard to Michaels craft store!!! So fun! She’s also on FACEBOOK.. stop by and give her a ‘like’.

Amy created this Fa-BOO-Lous Halloween weekly countdown. How creative is this??

Amy said, “I am so excited to be a guest designer for the Fa-Boo-Lous Halloween Inspiration Week! I am on the SVG Cuts DT and love Halloween. I thought it would be fun to create a Halloween Countdown. I started with today’s date 10.3 (4 weeks until Halloween!) and counted down the weeks. I also did a treat holder for the day before and Halloween Night. I started out with a shadowbox and removed the glass. I cut six boxes from SVG Cuts latest kit called Gimme Candy Boxes SVG Kit. I cut them on my Sizzix eclips using Ecal software. I also added some cuts from SVG Cuts Spooky Cuties SVG Collection. I designed the countdown dates in Adobe Illustrator and used the Epiphany Crafts Tool to create them. One stop at Joanns and I loaded it up with lots of goodies. You should of seen my boys when I showed them the countdown – their eyes lit up! “

Wow, right?! Head to her BLOG to see those detailed images and enter for a chance to win that $20 giftcard!

Up next is Corri from Bug Lover Cards! Corri knows how to keep it clean, simple, and classy! She’s the newest member to the SVG Cuts DT and we are excited to have her with us! Well, well.. what did Corri make to share with you all today? A fabulous card and ‘BOO’ gift box (perfect for the Fa-BOO-Lous week, wouldn’t you agree?!)

Corri said, “For my project, I used several files from SVG Cuts and paper and elements from October Afternoon’s Witch  Hazel collection. I used the adorable little ghost from the Spooky Cuties collection and stamped her face with some PKS face parts. “

Corri’s also having a fun giveaway on HER BLOG! Check it out! She’s got a Michaels craft store giftcard up for grabs! You should also swing by her Facebook page and say hello!

And last, but certainly not least.. Thienly from Mod Paperie! She also joined me over on the State Line Canvas Bag post (with  a giveaway, so check it out!). She’s awesome.. she knows it.. you know it. ’nuff said!

Thienly made a DARLING witches hat.. a little shimmer and glimmer goes a long way! I love the look of this!

Stunning! Thienly said, “Glitter and shimmer makes everything look pretty! I was inspired to make a glam version of the Witch Hat Box from Gimme Candy Boxes SVG Kit.  A simple project, easy to make, but an eye-catchy decor that holds yummy treats inside – PERFECT for Halloween parties!

How amazing! And again, ANOTHER giveaway! Head to Thienly’s BLOG to see more details on this project and enter her giftcard giveaway! She’s got one for $10 to SVG Cuts! Also, she’s got a fun Facebook page. Stop by and give her a ‘like’. She’s creepin’ up to 1,000 followers! Goooo Thienly!

Alannah’s nut holder

Hey, hey! How’s your weekend going? Mine is crafty as ever, of course! This weekend I am still working on my DIY Halloween decor, plus sneaking in some paper crafts! I finished up my last DT project for this month for Carta Bella, so fun! Can’t wait to share my projects with you all!

Today I decided to do some kiddo crafty time with my younger daughter (Older one’s not here.. and the boy was playing Batman). We knew right away what we would make after seeing this new kit release from SVG Cuts!

Kit is Acorn Autumn

My daughter has a ‘thing’ with collecting acorns.. or.. ‘nuts’. She swears someday she will make a necklace from them, lol! So of course she needs a place to put her nuts, right? (because I am pretty much over keeping them ‘safe’ in my nightstand for her) So.. we made ourselves some ‘nut holders’.

Now, I gotta say.. When I pulled up the PDF and saw all those tabs to glue for this container, I knew it was going to be a disaster. She just got over not feeling well and with not being 100% and all those tabs everywhere, she’d throw in the towel in minutes and whine at me to finish it for her.

I was wrong… Boy, was I wrong! I made one right along side her and she watched me VERY carefully. All I did was tell her where to glue and she did it.. all by her 7 year old little self! And she was soooooo proud! We craft all.the.time together, but this was something new.. ‘harder’ I suppose. Like the ‘big’ crafts mommy does.

So, I of course saw her enthusiasm and HAD to take photos to share.. she was so into it! So, here’s some photos of my little Alannah buggy making her ‘nut holder’.

The girl was all smiles! She said it was like a puzzle and was “so cool”.

When she finished the bottom, she realized it was a fabulous hat! LOL! My silly goose!

The lid was a little challenging for her.. tiny, tiny tabs! Good thing she has tiny fingers! She did great! I was about to have her do mine!

This picture totally makes me smile.. man, she is concentrating! lol.. This must be her ‘crazy crafty face’.

I am pretty sure that toothless grin shows her excitement over her new nut holder!!! She did it!

Time for finishing touches… then…..

TA-DA!!!!!!! She picked her own paper, ribbon, button and stickers.. and of course adhered everything on her nut holder :)

Here’s the group shot! I think her acorn is better than my two *wink*

(Totally messed up the inking here.. grabbed the wrong color.. gah!)

There’s her’s all opened up! And what’s inside?… Well, what do you think?

I love this silly kiddo! *pink fluffy hearts*

So, I gotta share a funny little story. Alannah said, “This is so cool, how much did it cost?!” (Yes, she’s been practicing counting money and such, lol).. I told her what the price it is, but then said being that I design for the company, I get mine for free!… She was AMAZED! Told me, “REALLY?! You need to make stuff for them for ever so when I am an adult I can use them too!”

Anyhow, this was a lot of fun and I totally suggest sitting down with a kiddo and making an acorn.. or anything else on the SVG Cuts site! This was so fun for her and not our usual cards or painting stuff we do. Smiles all around today!

Thanks for stopping by! Don’t forget you can get this NEW kit as a FREE GIFT this week with a purchase of $9.98 or more! Use code FREEGIFT at checkout! Whoo-hoo!

Fall Sour Cream Containers

Hey all!

It seems like I have been SO busy lately and don’t have time for any extra crafting right now, except for my ‘assigned’ projects… And even those are becoming a bit much to handle at this time.. Things just got SUPER busy for me over here. Before I head out the door to grab a Starbucks peppermint mocha, I decided to get this post up! (Mmmm! The seasonal drinks are back, this is a problem for me, lol)

Anyhow, today is my first DT project for the fabulous Glue Arts and I made something pretty simple, but useful! Some cute sour cream treat containers! These are my first ever sour cream containers so I was a bit excited about them, lol. These would be great for hostess gifts for Thanksgiving, treats for the kiddos, etc. Here are my pictures, for the details and instructions see THIS POST on the Glue Arts blog! This week we worked with the beautiful ‘Autumn Splendor’ collection from We R Memory Keepers.. I gotta say, this is a VERY nice line of fall papers! I LOVE the stickers and chipboard! Make sure you enter for your chance to win the ‘Autumn Splendor’  prize!

That’s it, folks.. I know.. “Whaaaat… Is this TAMARA’S BLOG? Such a short post and no random rambling”… Yes, I know..  Hopefully the chaos over here will slow down soon and I will be able to get back in the swing of things.

I also wanted to take a second to thank you all who stopped by for the Handmade Holidays hop!! Got lots of love and I am glad you all liked my project! :)

See ya!

Nightfall treat bucket

Hey, all! Hope you all had a great weekend! I was pretty busy over here finishing up my Echo Park ‘Times & Seasons’ projects! I drank a whole lotta’ coffee yesterday! lol..

I got some boxes in from Two Peas recently, and of course.. I was so excited about the new pretties that I HAD to make time to make one little thing! This is really simple.. I made it in less than an hour! I ordered some treat buckets from Oriental Trading Co. so I could decorate them for various holidays! I decided to give one a try… here’s what I came up with!

I’m keeping this post short, because I need to get the laundry done (Egh! It never ends! Anyone else have that problem?) So, here are some quick design details:

  • Get your buckets HERE.. Comes in a set of six! Perfect size for treats, cookies, stinky socks.. etc.
  • The little canvas star is from Canvas Corp. I added and eyelet and buttons! LOVE them!
  • The GORGEOUS paper is ‘Nightfall’ By American Crafts. It’s on sale at Two Peas right now!
  • Adorable stamp sentiment is from Punkin’ Patch Stamps!
  • The embellishments and ribbon is also American Crafts ‘Nightfall’
  • Burlap on the handle is from My Mind’s Eye ‘Lost and Found’
  • The tag and wavy orange trim are cutting files from Lori Whitlock

And of course.. Mama can’t do anything without some sort of ‘helper’.. and by ‘helper’ I mean my annoying feline child who got comfy the moment I started taking pictures!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a looksie! Don’t forget to click the ‘home’ button and see if you’ve missed anything!

I *heart* Lori Whitlock

Lookie here! It’s NOT a Halloween project share! LOL! *gasp*

So, if you checked out my post sharing my Season’s Greetings project, you might have noticed I mentioned the line being design by Lori Whitlock! (And if you haven’t you’re missing an Echo Park Paper kit giveaway!!) Well, not only is she a fantabulous graphic designer, she also designs and sells cuttable files! *insert crowd cheering, fireworks, and a big ol’ slice of chocolate cake with EXTRA frosting and pink sprinkles here* Awesome, right! And even better? They are SUPER resonably priced! You can view her shop from her blog HERE which has a only few files or, if you are a Silhouette user, search for Lori Whitlock! She has TONS of cute little designs to choose from in the Silhouette store! As in.. 37 pages of cute cut files! Whoo hoo! And don’t forget, Silhouette has a $.75 shape sale going on RIGHT NOW!

Alrighty, crafty peeps.. on to the cuteness! I went for simple and do-able! These would be great for the table setting on Thanksgiving! Switch it up for Halloween if you want! (And if you like Halloween, I’ve got another project I am going to design with her files that I will share soon enough.. probably next week!)

Super cute, right?!

If you want to make some, here’s how:

  • You will need the following files from Lori Whitlock.. Everything shown here can be purchased through her blog - Five Borders . Fall Leaves 1 . Fall Leaves 2 . Pumpkin Box . 6 labels
  • Cut various sizes and colors of leaves. Ink edges if you’d like. These would look great embossed! I scored some of them down the center and gave the a little crease.
  • Cut your pumpkin boxes as sized.. you can also make this much larer (think a batch of pumpkin cookies for a cookie exchange!)
  • Add the tag to the front (I layered two sizes for a shadowed effect) You can still remove and add the lid as long as you do NOT add glue above the eyelets!
  • Stamp on your tag.. or write a name/note
  • Add a wavy trim around the lid. I chose a turquoise blue for a fun pop of color!
  • The cardboard hearts are from Jillibean soup! Love them! I just got them in the other day :)
  • Add button/twine/ribbon/brads, etc.
  • Fill with yummy treats! Even 2-3 cookies would work!

I hope you all like this project and it gets you in the mood for fall crafting! If you’re on Facebook, stop by Lori’s page and click ‘LIKE’ to keep updated on new items, freebie downloads, etc.

Also.. don’t forget to enter my GIVEAWAY from an Echo Park Paper Season’s Greetings kit! CLICK HERE TO SEE MY PROJECT AND ENTER THE GIVEAWAY!

Have a great day, friends! Keep an eye out this weekend.. I have a FUN little project for a blog hop I am in! Whoo-hoo! It’s a BIG hop, too! 27 people… whoo-hoo! I am sure there will be TONS of inspiration and blog candy!

Cosmo Cricket digital cuteness!

Cosmo Cricket meets the Silhouette! And together they make pretty paper babies.. In this case, TRIPLETS!

My friend Thienly at Mod Paperie bought these adorable Cosmo Cricket graphics from and I HAD to have them too! How cute are these critters?!

Don’t they just make you smile? Cute critters graphics and SVG’s always do me in!…

I fired up the Silhouette and made a few cards. I had to make several because I wanted to use so many of the graphics, but that would be too crazy for one little card, lol. I know I have said it a bazillion times, but I LOVE being able to print and cut! I made these cards in about an hour.. can’t beat that with a wet noodle! (And why would you.. ew.)

Here’s what I made!

I used foam adhesive to give some dimension.

This is just a little ‘share’ post. I don’t really have much to say.. shocker, eh? I’m going to go grab a water and sit down and watch TV!

Until next time.. (which will be tomorrow.. lol..)

ive Thanks…..

Yes.. ‘ive Thanks!’

I made some Thanksgiving decorations for my mom and with that I made some wood blocks for her covered in some pretty fall paper! On one side it says ‘Thanks’….

Pretty right? :) And the other side.. well, the other side was suppose to say ‘Give’ But, because I wasn’t paying attention.. and it was the last block I made.. it looks like it says ‘ive’..

Egh! Shame on me! Brown on brown… really, Tamara?! I should have made another block but, I was tired and my mom seemed like she didn’t mind so.. ehhh.. oh well.. If these were mine it would bug the crud outta me! All in all they are pretty cute though and will look fabulous on her table this Thanksgiving.. along with THESE…

Annnnnd.. this….

And of course she needs the matching banner I made!

I can’t wait to see it all set up!

You can find the files used on most of these items at the fabulous SVGCUTS.COM

Most the paper used is DCWV ‘Amber Autumn’ stacks! (Found at Joann’s!) And then I used the ‘neutrals’ stack by DCWV!

The turkey that is used on the placecards is the cute little guy from the Create a Critter cartridge!

All we need is a yummy Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixin’s.. Mmmmm! I can’t wait!

I will post my New for me Monday soon… I am waiting for the mail to come ;) It might be a bit later, I am shampooing the carpets today (well, starting on them! It will probably take a few days). I like to do them every year.. and.. it’s been TWO!
