Carta Bella ‘Cool Summer’ Lemonade Card

*sluuurp*… I have a delicious card to share today! A nice tall refreshing glass of lemonade!

I think this is one of my favorite cards I’ve made! It all came together so well with the cute Cool Summer collection. I added a cluster of brads and buttons, which I LOVE. I love ‘clumping things’.. Unless it’s milk.. yuck. No clumpy milk please. *barf* Brings me back to the baby/toddler days when I use to find hidden bottles or sippy cups with milk in them that were a week or two old.. Forget washing them.. I would toss them out. Lazy? Maaaaybe.. Totally creeped out by clumpy sour milk that looks like it’s moving towards me when I look at it. Absolutely.

Not quite sure why I am going on and on about nasty milk from talking about brads and buttons.. So. Yeah.. Moving on.

Totally makes me want a frozen lemonade.. spiked, of course.. with some BBQ.. and a pool. Summer, are you here yet?! Although, with summer brings wasps around here. Every year we have a problem with them. They like to make their nests on our back porch, egh! Then yesterday my little monsters came running in the house screaming that there was a wasp nest in their play house.. Happy Mother’s Day to me, lol. We’ve got to figure out how to get rid of these things. They literally harass us. Gah! Just talking about it gets me all itchy.. and I am pur-ty sure I hear buzzing behind me *looks over shoulder*..  I am quite traumatized because some attacked me one summer. I was stung (bit?) on my head numerous times. I freaked out and it caused one to get tangled in my hair.. nightmares are made of this, seriously. I called my husband crying to come home from work and help me. Maybe a bit dramatic, but I was convinced I was going to die, lol

I created a card using Everyday Eclectic mixed with the oh, SNAP stamp set from Hampton Art. I used the doily and the star to create a background then I washed it out a bit with white ink. I embellished with some stickers, washi tape (from Michaels), and flair from my shop, Paper Play Studio (ENTER HOPSHIPFREE for FREE SHIPPING through Sunday the 28th!)

I just love that camera sticker!

Doodlebug pairs up with Kiwi Lane!

Hello, friends!

Have you noticed that the Doodlebug team has been sharing their projects this week featuring Kiwi Lane templates? The Doodlebug blog has been packed full of inspiration!

 

I kept it simple this week and created a little baby girl gift box topper using Doodlebug’s ‘Sugar & Spice’ collection. The gift box topper can double as a decoration, tag or a card!

I took one of the flower templates and made it into a little sun! I kept it off to the side to leave a bit of room to write a ‘To and From’ or a little note on the pink stripe paper.

I made the grass curve up a little for some dimension.. and how cute is that giraffe?

I ‘unstuck’ the clothing stickers by adding powder to the back, and then hung them onto twine. I thought this was really cute!

 

That’s it! I am keeping this short and sweet today! (Can’t get much ‘sweeter’ than Doodlebug, right?!)

‘POP’ on over! – Doodlebug Design Stars & Stripes

Hello, lovelies! Today I have a fun ‘pop’ themed project to share with you all. All us Doodble DT girls have been busy bees creating fun projects using all the NEW collections! We’ve featured Flower Box, Fruit Stand, Stars & Stripes… and this week we are featuring Take Note! Oh, yes! I LOVE the Take Note colection! Since I am a week late in getting this posted, chances are (if you follow Doodlebug.. and you SHOULD!) you’ve seen this already.

So, my inspiration for this ‘pop’ project was one little Doodle-Pop sticker.

I thought to myself that it would be sooo cute to alter some soda bottles. They HAD to have red soda in them though.. so I sent my hubby on a mission. He’s such a good sport. Thankfully we found some red soda in our small town. I was shocked. MY town had something I needed?.. Unheard of. Really.

After I altered the soda bottles I just felt it needed more… and I have this ‘itch’ to use all my product on one project, LOL! (not really.. but sometimes it seems that way!). So I created a ‘pop’ theme and made a popcorn box and a little invitation. Perfect! I  am so happy with how it came out with all it’s Doodle-buggy cuteness.

Don’t eat any of that popcorn. I popped it almost a week before taking final photos, lol. It’s quite stale.

What do YOU call ‘soda’? We had a little discussion in the DB DT group.. I’ve always called it soda. Some call it ‘pop’.. and others call ALL soda ‘coke’.  Or.. maybe you call it carbonated sugar. lol. (I don’t care for soda at all)

The mini pinwheels are SO adorable! I love how they are already cut and you can easily put them together. Pinwheels are such a sweet spring/summer decoration.

The mini notecard (create-a-card) was PERFECT for the invitation! How cute would this be to bring to  a neighbor’s house to invite them over for some BBQ?…

Just make sure you use FRESH popcorn… or.. if you’re my neighbor. Cookies.. yes, cookies are always good..

Life is the bubbles! Pebbles ‘Party with Amy Locurto’ project

Hey there, friends! Happy Monday! I am FINALLY sharing my project I made with the adorable Pebbles product featured in my last What I’m Working With Wednesday video! (Check it out to see the OTHER goodies in the video!) Hooray! I got kinda busy this weekend so ‘extra’ projects had to be set aside while I finished up some ‘work’.

I think this came out so darn cute.. too cute, really! I love the cartoony look and colors. Now I for sure know I need to order more! I hate that I am drawn to so many styles of product. I love clean, fun, cutesy (like Doodlebug) I love designs somewhere in between (Echo Park, American Crafts (Pebbles) Little Yellow Bicycle, Simple Stories, etc.) and I love things that are more vintage (October Afternoon, Crate Paper..) This is a problem because I think I need.it.all. There are very few companies out thaere that I wouldn’t want to build a house with all their products and live in it…. I could totally make a couch outta Thickers! lol

Anyhow, here’s what I made, design details are posted below the pictures.

I told you it was CUTE!

Here’s some design tips for ya:

  • Pebbles papers and stickers
  • I cut the card base from the Wet n Wild SVG Cuts kit. The front panel is cut with acetate and I filled it up with some chunky Doodlebug glitter. I made a special light blue border to go around the edges to cover the edge of my acetate, plus it just made it look more put together. It’s the details, peeps.. the details!
  • Over the white bubble stickers I added some glossy accents.. eeeek! I forgot how much I like this stuff on things like bubbles and such. I need to make more bubble projects!
  • The little sand dollar box is so.stinkin.cute. It’s also from SVG Cuts Wet n Wild kit! I sized it down a bit. The sand dollar is cut with Doodlebug sugar coated paper. Perfect look for a sand dollar! (I’m totally saying in my head, “A sand dollar, make me hollar!” lol I added some stickers, twine, and a button

That’s it! Makes me excited for summer… although, my body is a hot mess so that just means I need to get busy working out more. OK.. there’s actually nothing ‘hot’ about it, I’m just a darn mess… *wiggles arms* SEE! What IS that?.. *flap, flap, flap*

Time for me to head outta here! You all take it easy.. I am off to ‘work’ some more! Lots of fun projects in the works and I can’t wait to share! Lots of goodies coming the first week of April!

Gettin’ fruity! A bushel basket with 3D fruit & mini note cards!

This week on the Doodlebug Blog (be sure to stop by the DB blog for a GIVEAWAY!!) we are featuring the delicious FRUIT STAND collection! This collection is SO cute! LOVE the pops of purple, the little cute fruits, everything! I could just eat it all up! Nom-nom-nom.

*smiles* do I have any Doodle-Pops stuck in my teeth?…

 

So, of course with this collection I right away think FRUIT! So I wanted to make a fruit basket.. then decided to make little note cards for them to make it a little more special and unique.

Now, seriously.. is that not adorable?… I really think it’s one of my favorite projects so far this year!

I used Doodlebug’s Create-a-Card system for my note cards. Quick? Easy? Cutenes overload? check. CHECK!

That cherry card is my fav! I LOVE that Doodle-Pop sticker. The ‘So Sweet’ sentiment is done with rub-ons.. which I’ve come to.. you guessed it, LOVE! lol

I stuck a brad over a button here… kinda cute, eh?

There’s another Doodle-Pop! (the sun.. so cute!) ’Sweet Summer’ flags stuck onto wood picks and tucked behind the bow. These cute fruits sure do make this a SWEET project.

Hey there! I’m back with Little Yellow Bicycle as a ‘Just Because’ cycling team member! You can check out the blog post HERE. Scroll through the LYB blog and see all the fabulous designs by the DT and cycling team! So much inspiration.

This collection is quite lovely! It has a unique color palette.. A bit different from the ‘norm’. A coral-ish red, navy blue, small touches of lavender… really nice!

The moment I saw it all in person I knew I wanted to make something with a coffee or tea theme. I am ALWAYS inspired by the theme of papers/stickers. So, I made a tea cup! Almost looks real with the added saucer!

I added a dowel with some pretty rosettes, chipboard, 3D bow and stick pins. Fun, huh? You can make one too with the SVG Cuts Tea For You and Me kit. Add some bags of tea, cookies, etc. for a perfect gift!

 

Next up is a cute and simple vellum strip card. I LOVE LYB’s vellum strips!

I love how much there is to play with in the Just Because collection! You really can take it so many different ways from girlie and cute, vintage, Valentine-ish, etc.

First up, the Photo Freedom Volume 1 pages. I REALLY like this PF collection! The colors are very easy to work with.
This one shows one of our many fun outdoor summer evenings! We love hanging out grillings and letting the kids run through the sprinklers!
The next Photo Freedom page is a simple page all about DISNEY! This was our Disney trip last spring! Awww.. makes me want to go back! I used the tall 6×12 pocket to show off several mini photos. (MINNIE photos?.. lol)
Next up are two very simple cards! One with the gorgeous Sweet Girl collection and the other is with All About A Boy! Both are FABULOUS to work with! I made some AWESOME projects with these collections (if I do say so myself..) that you’ll all see soon in upcoming blog posts, PDF project downloads and idea books for Echo Park! So here’s the cute cards!
The first one is an ‘I Love You Sweet Girl’ card. A quick card for a special little girl!
This one is a ‘fun’ yo-yo card. I cut the yo-yos out and adhered them with adhesive foam for dimension. Then just added some strip with a loop on the end.

SVG Cuts’ newest card kit! Plus WINNER from the LYB Giveaway

Guess who’s a newly 30 year old? ME! My birthday was yesterday and I gotta say.. saying “I am 30″ is gonna take some getting use to.

All of a sudden I am noticing all these creases on my forehead.. GAH! I am 30.. not 100!

 

Today’s blog post is gonan be a quick one. I am sharing this card I made from SVG Cuts’ new Five Minute Cards SVG Kit. They are quick, easy, and eye-catching! I LOVE them! Because really.. sometimes ya just need a cool handmade card right.now. I went with the ‘I LIKE YOU’ card.

 

Of course the inner complicated person in me wanted to jazz up this card even more.. but then it wouldn’t be so ‘five minute’. So, I just added some quick stitching and a couploe stickers to make it ‘mine’.

Doodlebug Designs: Simple Bookmarks & a Birthday Card

Hello, friends! Are you ready to see some adorable Doodlebug projects? Today I have some quick and easy bookmarks and a fun and colorful robot card!

If you follow the Doodlebug Blog (and you should!) you’ve probably already seen these cute bookmarks.. so just keep scrollin’ and check out the adorable card below!

 

These bookmarks are quick and easy! Which is good if the child you give them to rips the stickers off to use on THEIR projects. Yes… that did happen. My daughter had the bookmarks in her hands for about 3 minutes and she took the sweet kitty Doodle Pop right off. She might have ripped off all the ‘good stuff’ but hey.. she still uses the tore up bookmark! I could have just handed her a piece of scrap paper and it would have been the same thing!

The assignment was a ‘love’ non-Valentines project. These are perfect for the child who LOVES to read.

I think the kitty wants to make a meal outta that little birdie. I can see it in her eyes… Psycho kitty. MEOW!

The ‘buggy’ bookmark is perfect for my little Alannah. We call her ‘Lana Buggy’. She saw it and was all smiles.

 

Doodlebug has TONS.. I mean TONS of different Doodle-Pops and stickers to use for custom bookmarks! I am trying to refrain from saying, “I LOVE Doodle-Pops” because I think I say it in every Doodlebug post I make.. lol.

OK.. really. I joined the DT JUST to get my hands on all their Doodle-Pop awesomeness.

I vaguely remember rolling around in them when my DT box came.

I also have them out in the open in my craft room. Right next to my table.. just so I can look over and give ‘em a lil wink and smile at them.

Yeah.. I WILL complete this post without telling you about my Doodle-Pop obsession… heh.

 

Then there’s this robot Doodle-Pop. I saw him and fell in love.

I have a ‘thing’ for robots. My son has had oodles of robot shirts in his sweet 5 years of life, has had a robot birthday, etc. I just think they are cute…. and I secretly wish I had one to hang out with and clean my house…. and change the cat box. Hmm.. could you imagine if the robot malfunctioned while scoopin’ the cat box?.. Just started flinging kitty clumps all of the place. “Scoop poop.. does not compute..” <— I hope you read that in your best robot voice.

So, I made a cute robot birthday card for a sweet birthday boy.

Hopefully you have the image of a robot flinging cat box scoopings out of your head by now..

 

That robot just screams ‘Come party with me!.. I’m a real ’machine’ on the dance floor!” har-har-haaaar.
