Showing off some gorgeous LYB ‘Just Because’ collection!

Hey there! I’m back with Little Yellow Bicycle as a ‘Just Because’ cycling team member! You can check out the blog post HERE. Scroll through the LYB blog and see all the fabulous designs by the DT and cycling team! So much inspiration.

This collection is quite lovely! It has a unique color palette.. A bit different from the ‘norm’. A coral-ish red, navy blue, small touches of lavender… really nice!

The moment I saw it all in person I knew I wanted to make something with a coffee or tea theme. I am ALWAYS inspired by the theme of papers/stickers. So, I made a tea cup! Almost looks real with the added saucer!

I added a dowel with some pretty rosettes, chipboard, 3D bow and stick pins. Fun, huh? You can make one too with the SVG Cuts Tea For You and Me kit. Add some bags of tea, cookies, etc. for a perfect gift!

Next up is a cute and simple vellum strip card. I LOVE LYB’s vellum strips!

I love how much there is to play with in the Just Because collection! You really can take it so many different ways from girlie and cute, vintage, Valentine-ish, etc.

Whatcha’ think? You can view the entire collection HERE.

Before you leave, I want to mention that LYB is having a NATURALS contest! Remember the adorable altered pitcher I shared recently showing off the Naturals? Hopefully that sent you all running to your nearest craft store to get some for yourself! If so, take a look at the contest! It runs through March 17th so you have plenty of time to enter! MORE DETAILS HERE.

OK, friends.. see you later!! Happy crafting!

Yummy treat ideas for Valentines Day!

Hello there!

What an eventful weekend I had! I mentioned the other day that my hubby was sick.. well he ended up going to the hospital and being admitted! He’s doing much better now and he is home and resting. He should be going back to work tomorrow so that’s good. Needless to say I didn’t have time to fiddle with my blog over the weekend.

Anyhow, today I am sharing TWO delicious Doodlebug treat packaging ideas! The design team has been very busy with the new Lovebirds collection! Hopefully you’ve had time to stop by the BLOG and see them all.. LOTS of inspiration going on over there.

First off I have a darling lollipop treat box. I found these adorable little heart shaped lollipops and knew I just had to make a project with them.. plus I don’t care for suckers, so the chance of me eating them are slim to none! When I buy M&M’s, etc. for ‘projects’…. yeah… ‘projects’…

I wish I had some fake candy that looked REAL. Heck, I would probably still find a way to eat it! lol. Anyhow, back to the lollipop box.. I used the cute ‘glove box’ file from SVG Cuts’ Mother’s Garden kit. I added on a cute scalloped window so you can see the cute lollipops inside. I decorated it and it came together as this:

Back pats to me for the whole photo staging too.. I think it came out super cute! I actually made that heart banner in the back with die cut felt hearts.

I really love the scalloped edges on this box.

For the lollipops I added some washi tape to the stick.. so cute! Yes, Doodlebug has WASHI TAPE now! And it’s awesome!!! The little love notes were perfect tags to add on. With a little twine bow and a small button.. too cute!

Next is this sweet cupcake baggie. This is a cutting file from the Silhouette store. I added on some heart jewels to look like little sprinkles. I can not get over how many embellishments Doodlebug makes. I have it all set up in my Ikea cart and it looks like a miniature candy store with all the COLOR.

So here’s my cute cupcake treat bag:

Looks good enough to eat, right?.. nom-nom-nom.

There’s some more of that cute washi tape! I am a sucker for polka dots!

So what do ya think? Have you snagged yourself some Doodlebug Lovebirds yet? There’s only TEN days left until Valentines day!  My hubby and I don’t really play into the ‘Hallmark holiday’ crap.. BUT I do play it up for my kids! I wasn’t able to do their little ‘love party’ for them this past weekend.. sick hubby.. plus my oldest daughter was with her dad and I don’t want her left out, so.. it’s on for this coming weekend! I will be sure to share pics for those that care to see what we are up to over here.

Alrighty.. see ya next time! (if you missed my layout I posted Friday, be sure to check it out!) Have a great week my crafty friends! See ya!

‘LOVE’ card and blog hop winners announced!

Hey there!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Mine was less than thrilling, but what can ya do?.

So, I have a card to share today.. plus some WINNERS from the Carta Bella and Echo Park blog hops! Yay!

I don’t think I ever officially announced here on my blog that I am now on the DOODLEBUG design team! Oh, yes! I’m pretty excited about it! I’m loving it so far and the happy and bright designs are right up my alley! I love when I get on a DT and just feel in a ‘happy place’. As always.. I feel so lucky to have been selected! As someone who often struggles with the whole ‘is my work good enough’ thing, I’m always surprised when emails come through for a DT or guest designer work, etc. I’m a lucky, lucky girl!

With that said.. here’s my first Doodlebug DT blog post! I have two other really cute projects to share with you next week, too! For today, I have a card using the ‘LOVE” stickers. You can see some of the other DT girls take on the adorable ‘LOVE” stickers on the DOODLEBUG BLOG. Very cute stuff, peeps!

I decided to make my card have a heart shaped front. My inspiration was a heart shaped candy box. I added some cute ribbon ruffles and it just pulled it all together! Now if there would just be chocolate in the card when I opened it.. *smiles*

Pretty, isn’t it? It has a simple loveliness to it.

There’s the adorable ‘LOVE’ sticker! I added a flower sticker and a flower Doodle-Pop to the bottom right. I really LOVE the Doodle-Pops!

I can’t wait to share the rest with your next week!

Alrighty.. time for the BLOG HOP WINNERS! I want to thank you all for taking time to join us and all your sweet comments!  You all really make me smile! I am REALLY bad about commenting on blogs so I always appreciate those who leave me comments.

ECHO PARK HOP WINNER… *drumroll*… Congrats Maureen McPherson!!!! (I will be emailing you)

CARTA BELLA BLOG HOP WINNER…. ready for it?… Lea Lawson!!! *happy dance* (I will be emailing you)

OK, friends.. that’s it for now! I will see you again soon.. Until then. Stay awesome!… I know you will!

SVG Cuts stamps now available at UNITY!

If ya love stamping.. this post is for you! (and even if you don’t love stamping.. keep reading! I mean.. you’re already here anyways, right?)

My friends at SVG Cuts have teamed up with Unity Stamp Co. to bring you some super cool stamps! This is quite exciting! Why? Because SVG Cuts was actually going to discontinue their stamp line. Waaah! But not anymore!

I always say I am not much of a stamper.

Do you see a pattern here on my blog..?

“I’m not much of a card maker..”

“I’m not much of a scrapbooker”

……… *blink-blink*

“Then what DO you do, woman?!”

I hoard crafty supplies.

.. and cookie cutters. Really. I have probably 150-175 cookie cutters.

Anyhow, even though I am “not much of a stamper”…. I subscribe to two of Unity’s kit clubs. I get the Stamp of the Week (because something about those itty bittys in my mail box weekly just makes me HAPPY!) and then I also get the Kit of the Month. I love the quality of these stamps! The are red rubber stamps mounted on cling foam. Quality!

And to prove what a non-seasoned stamper I am.. I had no idea to ‘season’ your stamps you can rub an eraser over them! What the?.. I thought the stamps stamped cleanly enough at first.. and then after I did the eraser trick I was like, “Marry me, you lovely crisp stamp!”.

Well, it was something liek that. I was quite amused.

So, being on the SVG Cuts team I thought I should show some support and get my stamps inked up! Right now there are only two SVG Cuts sets available.. with more to come! I used the ‘’ sentiment stamp from All You Need Is Love kit! (On sale right now for $10.99!!) and the owl from the January KOTM (So cute!). The tree brances are from Unity ‘Naturally You’ and the hearts are another monthly kit “All You Need…”

Do you see that little ‘jump’ in my stitching?

That’s what happens when a wild beast dog jumps onto your lap when you have the sewing machine going. Egh!

Gives it character I suppose. lol.

Is this owl not the cuuutest? He’s rockin’ those shades! As soon as I got my KOTM I just knew I would (eventually) use him.. He’s great for paper piecing!

The papers are a mix of a few different October Afternoon sets. Brads are October Afternoon Woodland Park.

And while I have you here, SVG Cuts released a NEW kit! This one is sure gonna be a rootin’ tootin’ good time! Check it out! It’s yours FREE this week with a purchase of $9.98 or more with the code FREEGIFT

Get the Happy Trails SVG Kit!

Yeah. That’s a 3D BOOT, folks!

OK, I’m outta here! Have a nice weekend! I’m gonna shine up ‘mah spurs and ride off into the sunset!

I really wish I had a cowskin print vest right now. *sad face*

*crickets chirping*

*whack.. whack.. whack.. *

No.. I’m not whacking at you.. I’m whacking at all the crickets that are hanging around in here! Get on outta here you crickets with your big heads and weird skinny legs!

Holy moley.. seriously, Tamara?! You haven’t blogged since October 19th?..  *hands head* Major blogger fail.

If anyone is still around here, I am SO sorry to have neglected my blog. I got a few “Are you alive” comments/emails and I’m here to say.. yes, I AM alive. (Well, as alive I can be without any coffee in me yet)… So I guess that would be more like, I am here.. but I’m totally a zombie. Braaaaaaains.

So, what HAVE I been doing if I haven’t been hanging around my blog entertaining you all?.. Well, let’s just say I have been busy and just ‘mentally’ tied up. I had a rough mid/end of October and early November but I brushed the crafty funk away and have projects in the works and it feels goooood! Life sometimes gets in the way, ya know? It can’t always been crafting, fun times, wearing underware on your head, and coffee.. lol.

Anyhow, I have a few things to share! Just some cute cards I have created for Echo Park.. my paper lover. Most of you might have seen these on EP’s blog.. but I love ‘em, so they need to be on my blog, too!

First up is a 3D ‘tree’ card created with This & That ‘Christmas’ collection. This collection is just SO beautiful! I think this card came out really cute. That woodgrain paper is so lovely!

If you want to give this ‘cone’ tree technique a try, I made up a little (and perfectly pin-able) tutorial!

1). Cut 3-4 circles. My largest circle was about 3 – 3.25″. Make each additional circle slightly smaller than the previous one. Fold circles in half to create a ‘guide’ line.

2). Open up circle and using the guidelines you folded, add a very thin line of glue. Adhere together on opposite ends along the folded line.

3). Pinch and fold into a cone shape (photo does not show my circle adhered, so you could do it without step #2, but it does help it fold nicer and more evenly)

4). Repeat with all your circles and then adhere/layer them into each other like shown. Then adhere to your card, layout, etc.! Super easy and a great way to add dimension!

If you give this a go, I’d love for you to share it on my FACEBOOK WALL! I always love to see your projects inspired by my work.

Now here’s a very sweet little shaker card using Echo Park’s mini theme, ‘Happy Holidays’ I LOVE the colors and stickers in this theme and wish it was a full collection. I can’t get enough! I created this card by creating a scalloped oval die cut window with a sheet of acetate and glitter behind it. Creates a fun wintery scene with the tree stickers. I added a cluster of embellishments with buttons, stickers, and twine! My favorite! I love to jumble things together and didn’t realize I did that until Mary (From SVG Cuts) pointed it out.. then I was like, oh yeah! I am a total cluster-er. lol!

I just love those little candy stickers! I topped them with a round Epiphany Crafts epoxy sticker.

Since I am on the topic of Echo Park, did you SEE the new collection? Are you feeling the ‘love’?… I know I am! Can’t wait to get my hands on this pretty collection. This collection will also have embellishments! Such a treat! Click HERE to view the full collection!

And let’s not forget PHOTO FREEDOM! I just got done with my assignment using the ‘Dear Santa’ kit. I gotta admit, I was a little ‘worried’ because this is something I’ve never done before. Did I mention layouts and the like scare me? lol. Buuuut, I DID it! I even enjoyed it! I can see how this kind of ‘scrapbooking’ is becoming so popular now. It’s EASY! Slide some pre-made images in the sleeves, add in some photos and a bit of embellishing and ta-da! Awesomeness! If you follow me on my INSTAGRAM you might have seen a few peeks of my work.  I can’t wait to share them with you all! There’s a NEW free idea book out to show you ways to use the Photo Freedom kits! Check it out!

Pink Paislee ‘Sweetness’

Hey there! I’m back for another quick share!

Pink Paislee needed some projects for an upcoming HSN shoot using the lovely ‘Sweetness’ collection kit, so I made two ‘sweet’ projects! (If you want this yummy kit, take a look HERE)

I’m just sharing one for now. A heart shaped candy box using SVG Cuts ‘Love me Do’ kit! (AWESOME! The boxes come out very sturdy, like the ‘real’ boxes!) How pretty is this box with these papers and embellishments? I used the canvas ribbon to create rosettes! I trimmed the ‘heart pennants’ off one of the ribbons, then I frayed the edges, and with the leftover strings that I pulled off from fraying, I tied it through the button! The two flowers and text were created from the rub-ons! Love how this one kit made it simple to make a few coordinating Valentine’s gifts!

Also, if you like to use digital papers, you can get the ‘Sweetness’ collection HERE!

Anyhow, just wanted to share really quick! Hopefully I will see a peek of it on HSN!! :) Feb 9th!

Buggy Valentine’s

Hello, lovelies!

I just wanted to get these photos posted to my blog with my SVG Cuts ‘Buggy Valentine’s’ project! Aren’t these adorable?! Not too many steps, easy to recreate and have fun with it! These are Valentines with a springy twist with non-traditional Valentine’s colors, cutie bugs and flowers! I hope they inspire you to create! For all the dimensions and details, you will need to check out THIS POST over at the SVG Cuts blog!

I used some yummy Doodlebug Designs ‘Sweet Cakes’ papers, glitter cardstock, and twine, so fun and bright, of course! What else would you expect from Doodlebug? Love ‘em!

(I could not get a good ‘group’ shot.. egh.. color is all outta whack!)

I love the daisy card.. you can hide a lollipop behind the daisy!

There ya go! Simple, right? Those little bugs sure are cute, Mary always does a fabulous job with her files.. and I LOVE cutesy stuff!

Here is my simple project! Something you can easily make for that special someone!… Or, yourself.. ;) (Come on.. Admit it, who else buys Valentine goodies for themselves?!)

See, I told ya it was simple! (Didn’t help that I had a bad tooth ache when I made this.. Thankfully, the pesky tooth is gone now!) If you want some design details, here ya go:

  • The wrapper is made from THIS freebie SVG file from You will need to make it about 1″ wider than your actual candy bar. You can easily make this with a good ol’ scoring board, too!.. if you don’t have a snazzy duie cutting machine (and if you don’t you need one!..)
  • I used some yummy crinkle ribbon made by my Glue Arts design team friend, Kristen. Here’s her ETSY SHOP! (She’s got GREAT prices, too!)
  • I used my Epiphany Crafts shape tool for the ‘custom’ matching buttons and ‘Valentine’s Day’ sticker epoxy. Love the shape studio tools!
  • I used fibers from Canvas Corp.. Yummy!
  • All my adhesive is from Glue Arts. Love the U-Cut it foam! I use it all the time!
  • And of course, the lovely paper is Echo Park’s, ‘Yours Truly’!
  • You could use the inside space for a sweet note, etc. I just used some kit stickers for the ‘You’re Sweet’ and called it a day (Did I mention I had a horrible tooth ache while making this?.. poor me, right?! Tooth ache took away  at least 80% of my crafty brain at the time)

OK, folks! Back to ‘work’ for me! I’ve got two delicious paper companies to design stuff for for CHA (Craft and Hobby Association)… I’ve got some cuuute stuff in the works! Be sure to stop by my blog on the 29th to see eveything! I will be trying to blog while I am there, too (well, once I get back to my hotel that is, lol).. and sharing some of my ‘must have’ finds! I am sure there will be lots and lots of ‘must haves’ lol.

If you are a newbie here, I would love for you to swing by Facebook and give me a ‘like’ Click here – Happy Life, Crafty Wife

OK.. time for you to head off to the end of the hop at the Echo Park Blog!

Thanks again for stopping by and I hope you liked my ‘simply’ sweet project!

Stay awesome, my friends!

My FIRST design team project for FCCB!

That’s right! My very first project for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog is up! (Or, will be on Monday morning!) This week’s challenge is to make a card with a square shape using green and gold (dark yellow).. I figured most people might do St. Patrick’s Day stuff, so I decided to go with something different. I chose the cute waterfall dino card from SVG Cuts Waterfall Cards SVG Kit. Since both my girls enjoy dinosaurs, I decided to girlie it up! I added some funky lips and a flower… it came out cute.. and funny! Those big ‘ol lips look pretty silly, lol. The girls liked it, of course!

SVG Collections Used : Waterfall Cards SVG Kit, Spring Bunnies SVG Collection and Birthday Dino’s SVG Collection (all from

The card was all cut in SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot).

The card base is 11×5.5″

The scalloped gold heart base is cut to 5×5″.. It’s an SVG and I have NO idea where I got it from :( I do know it was a freebie!

I cut the lips from a heart shape found in the SCAL library. The flower is also in the SCAL library. I didn’t note sizes, so maybe play around with what works for you?

The balloon from Birthday Dinos is cut at 4″ high.

Bow from Spring Bunnies (Tulip Bunny) is cut at 3.55″ high. (Goes on the balloon)

I used my Cuttlebug to emboss and I put some Glossy Accents on the lips.

The sentiment stamp is from Pink by Design! It would also look great stamped inside the dino’s mouth!

This card was really fun to put together! I hope you like it even though my girly dino has hooker lips, LOL!

3 children… free to the first person to hand me a venti white mocha from Starbucks!

Man, what a day! Some days I just don’t know how I do it.. wait, yes I do, COFFEE! The past two days I have had coffee for dinner.. yup. Dinner. I feel like an old lady that can’t keep up anymore! My 28th birthday is coming (On the 16th)… feels like it’s time to find a plot at the graveyard! LOL.. yes, I exaggerate.. it keeps things exciting for me. You know the type, the person who always has to make things worse than they are? Yeah, that’s me! Did I mention the world is coming to an end…… everyday? Sometimes more than once a day! Yep, believe it.

Anyhow.. today was a rough one. My oldest is a little.. uh… mouthy. I was over it, like… 2 years ago. She’s turning 8 soon and she is convinced she is the boss. Her constant nagging at the little ones drives me batty. (I know those of you with several children are probably nodding your heads right now) So, needless to say the 3 little turds ran circles around me today. There was a point I sat on the couch and just kinda dazed off. Thank GOD it was beautiful outside today. I am pretty sure I asked the kids 2 or 3 times if they wanted to go outside and play with the puppy. Who knew that getting a new dog would work out so well for me?

I can usually keep it together and keep them busy with some sort of activity. Today’s activity involved sugar.. x2. We took some cute photos this morning and they had these adooorable lip suckers. They are way cute and big.. big = lotsa sugar.. lotsa sugar + two girls = crazy. Crazy because they were acting crazy… and crazy because I thought I would be a ‘cool’ mom to ’just this once’ let them have candy at.. ohhh…. 10am. Yes…. go on.. call CPS. They are having Hamburger Helper for dinner tonight too… Oooooh… double bad mommy today! Two strikes, baby!!

(Not the greatest pics… but aren’t those lip suckers ca-uute?)

Anyhow.. after the sugar attack this morning we made white chocolate covered pretzel rods for Alannah’s class.. And it wouldn’t be fun if we didn’t eat some while we made them! God forbid I turn my head for a second.. Austin drinks the sprinkles! GAH!!!!

Would I get a 3rd bad mommy strike to have a bottle…. uh.. no, I mean glass of wine at.. I dunno… noon? I know, a glass at noon isn’t bad… But, a glass at noon with 3 kids around and no hubby and you haven’t eaten all day PLUS you’re a ‘lightweight’ when it comes to alcohol… yeah, bad mommy. Good thing I didn’t. Nope, I hit the coffee instead. Extra, extra sugar. I am pretty sure I gave myself a cavity today!

It’s 5:45pm here and I am counting down for bedtime. I think I was counting down for bedtime at 10am. LOL!!

I love ‘em.. I sure do! But, Mama neeeeds a breeeeak!

So… who’s got that venti white chocolate mocha?..
