Cupcake Box – Calorie free!

*** LOOKING FOR THE ECHO PARK HOP? CLICK HERE! ***

This is the best kind of cupcake! Cute and calorie free! (HA! Who am I kidding? Where’s my red velvet cuppy’s at?! Mmmm!)

SVG Cuts released this adorable ‘Happy Birthday to You’ kit and I was drooling over that sweet lil’ cupcake container! I wanted to switch it up a little bit, so I added on a ‘liner’ and made it look more vintagey.. and of course, I stuck a butterfly on it, lol. I noticed I’ve been doing that a lot lately! I do like me some butterflis.. have two butterfly tattoos, actually!

So, here’s my pretty ‘vintage’ take on the cupcake!

Photobucket

Ooooh… Ahhhhhhh!

Too bad it doesn’t come with cream filling.

Photobucket

Photobucket

I plan to make another one, with a more ‘playful’ theme to it, bright and fun! It’s really easy to make, too!

If you want to create the ‘liner’. I just scored two strips of paper every 1/4″ and accordian folded it. Then just hot glue it to the base! Totally cute!

OK, that’s it for today! I am working on an SVG Cuts project this week.. and it’s not coming out how it was planned in my head… egh! I hate when that happens! But, I think I can get it to work! *fingers crossed*

Happy crafting!

Anyhow, Welcome to the Echo Park Paper ‘A Boy’s Life’ Design Team Blog Hop! Today the Design Team is showcasing projects highlighting the ‘A Boy’s Life’ collection. Be sure to follow the blog hoplist below. Leave a comment on each designers’ blog, as well as, the Echo Park Paper blog to be included in the drawing. The winner will be announced on Monday, February 27 on the Echo Park Paper blog so be sure to check back to see if you’ve won! Good luck to all my crafty friends!

Here’s the blog hop list you will need to follow:

Time to share my project with you all! I made something fairly simple, but could be a GREAT gift for someone! I created a banded box (from an SVG file) with special little photo mats! After the photos I will give some design tips if you’d like to give one a try as well! You can do ANY theme! Of course mine is done with the fabulous ‘A Boy’s Life’ collection kit! It fit these photos of my little dude’s personality perfectly. I did only four samples, but you can do this with a whole set of photos!

Photobucket

Photobucket

I love how the band slides onto the box to keep it closed!

I took a photo of each photo w/mat to show ya!

How do you like it?! Pretty cute, right? The kit stickers and cutting file I used make it SO easy!

DESIGN TIPS:

  • Cutting file is a ‘belly band box’ from Lori Whitlock! (She also designs some of the gorgeous EP paper collections!) I did rotate the file a bit and stretch it as far as I could to get it as large as possible. My finished box is 3.75″ tall and 5.50″ wide. Cut and assemble (the box cuts in one piece, so it’s very easy to assemble). I inked the edges a bit with grey ink. Decorate with kit stickers, buttons, twine, washi tape, etc.
  • I trimmed ‘A Boy’s Life’ papers to 5.25″ wide and 3.75″ high. These will be your ‘mats’. Trim photos to fit and make them small enough so some of the edges will be left showing from the paper. Use a corner rounder on your photos. I just recently got a We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper, works great!

Photobucket

  •  Adhere to ‘mats’ with a glue runner. My go to? Glue Glider from Glue Arts, of course!

Photobucket

  • Then, just decorate with kit stickers! Use just a few, or a lot! I tend to not like using a lot of ‘stuff’, but I did add a good amount of stickers to the ‘You Rock’ one. It works though! If you don’t plan to put too many in the box, bulk them up with buttons, brads, etc.

There you have it! I hope it gives you some inspiration! This would be great for vacations, birthdays, a photo a month for a baby, etc. I know most people would probably just scrapbook them, but if you’re like me and have only done one layout (LOL!.. Hey, I am working on adding to that very soon!) then, you might like this idea! And did I mention it was super easy?!

OK.. off to the next blog! See ya! Wendy Sue Anderson: http://www.wendysueanderson.blogspot.com/

Happy Birthday to meee!

I’m 29, baby! Egh.. Last year in my twenties! I gotta make it a good one, right?!

So, I spent most of my day out and about with hubby and kiddos, but I did have some morning down time and decide to make myself a card! I got a big order of Unity Stamps in the other day, and wanted to play with them a bit. I have never been much of a stamper, but I did tell myself I would get more into stamping and scrapbooking this year!

So, here’s my quick lil’ birthday card! I used some Simple Stories papers! (A new paper love that I discovered rather recently) and Pink Paislee.

Photobucket

Photobucket

I thought with stamping came Copics and whatnot.. but, I think my ‘style’ will definitely be stamping the same stamp on different paper pattens and cutting them out like shown with the elephant (Is there a name for that? lol).. Not saying I won’t ever invest in some Copics, but probably wouldn’t be something I would go to often.

Anyhow, I have several things I need to get up on my blog.. hopefully I can finish up sometime tonight! :)

Have a great weekend, friends!

Pink Paislee ‘Sweetness’

Hey there! I’m back for another quick share!

Pink Paislee needed some projects for an upcoming HSN shoot using the lovely ‘Sweetness’ collection kit, so I made two ‘sweet’ projects! (If you want this yummy kit, take a look HERE)

I’m just sharing one for now. A heart shaped candy box using SVG Cuts ‘Love me Do’ kit! (AWESOME! The boxes come out very sturdy, like the ‘real’ boxes!) How pretty is this box with these papers and embellishments? I used the canvas ribbon to create rosettes! I trimmed the ‘heart pennants’ off one of the ribbons, then I frayed the edges, and with the leftover strings that I pulled off from fraying, I tied it through the button! The two flowers and text were created from the rub-ons! Love how this one kit made it simple to make a few coordinating Valentine’s gifts!

Also, if you like to use digital papers, you can get the ‘Sweetness’ collection HERE!

Anyhow, just wanted to share really quick! Hopefully I will see a peek of it on HSN!! :) Feb 9th!

*gulp*

Eeeks! OK, here it is.. my very FIRST layout. GAH!!!!! *bites nails*

I am so nervous about sharing for some reason.. I mean, this is SO far out of my comfort zone, it’s ridiculous! lol. I can make ya 3D hot air balloons, just don’t ask me for a layout, LOL! And well, that’s just what my DT coordinator at Echo Park did! I saw her at CHA and she asked me to start doing some layouts.. the nerve, right? LOL (Andrea, if you’re reading this.. I *heart* ya!) So, I sat down and tackled it.. or, err.. tried to tackle it!

First I picked some papers I wanted to work with, and paper hoarder me had a hard enough time with that!

Then, I picked photos that might look cute with the chosen papers. I found some pictures from a photoshoot I did of my daughter, Alannah, in the first dress I ever sewed for her! I printed them in color and it just irritated my mind.. I had to make them black and white! Then, the sizing didn’t work out for my ‘vision’ (Said ‘vision’ started as a sketch I drew up, which was quickly ditched. This ‘vision’ also changed a bajillion times!) So, after 3 sheets of photo paper, I had it, the right sized photos! Whew! That took a few hours, no joke! I am BAD about printing photos of my kiddos, so to go through files amoung files to find ‘the’ photos was a workout in itself. (Yeeee-ah.. MY kind of ‘workout’ is sitting on my butt looking through photo files.. it’s tough stuff, man! Especially with my crazy mess of a desktop!) Next thing I knew, the girlies were home and craft time was over.

Then today rolls around. I get the monsters off to school, drowned myself in coffee, and got right to ‘work’. It took a few HOURS! I don’t have a set scrapbooking ‘style’ just yet, so I played around with placement and embellishments a lot. And while I did that, I learned a bit about my ‘style’.

I don’t like things perfectly centered, usually, and I like my embellishments in ‘clusters’ I do it with my cards, too. Once I just did my ‘thing’ and didn’t try to force something that wasn’t ‘me’ it all worked out, and I have a totally acceptable layout! It might not be everyone’s style.. but it works for me. And hey, it’s my first layout and I somehow managed to keep all my fingers, so that’s a plus, right?!

Here it is, TA-DA!

Eeeek..

Says in little mouse voice… “Whatcha think?”

Photobucket

*hides under desk*

LOL…

OK, seriously… all you ‘seasoned’ scrappers.. Can I do this? Can I be in the cool kids scrapbooking club?

Do you have members only jackets?..

In pink?.. I hope?

Satiny pink?

Perhaps with some bling?!

*smiles*

Here are some close up shots.. I used October Afternoon’s ‘Sidewalks’ collection.. looove!

Photobucket

The butterflies are actually cut from the photo.. and backed with patterned paper. You can tell in person, but to me, in the photos, it just looks like die cuts adhered to the picture. I tried to snazz it up a bit, lol. My nifty laser cut preview on my Sizzix Eclips helped me make sure I got my placement just right! And of course I used my ‘go to’ butterflies from SVG Cuts!

Photobucket

And some more close ups..

3D bows.. they can be flattened a bit to go in an album

Photobucket

The ‘book print’ paper is pleated.
Photobucket

Whew! I feel a major sense of accomplishment, lol. It’s not an award winner, by any means.. but it’s a decent start! So.. look for more layouts from me in the future!

Have a GREAT ‘Scrappy’ weekend!

Hello there! You’re nearing the end of the hop, and I have a cute and simple card to share! (I was super crunched for time right before CHA!) I just LOVE the Epiphany Crafts shape tools and own pretty much all of them! It’ so fun to be able to make your own custom embellishments and buttons! For my project I used one of Echo Park’s newest collection, ‘This and That – Charming’ This line was just released yesterday at CHA! (To see several projects I made, check out my post from yesterday!)

Here is my cute little card I made. I have really been liking tall/skinny cards lately! I used the shape tools to create ‘balloons’ tied to this carriage. I have seen a similar card using a bike, and of course not using the cool shape tools.. I switched it up to make a ‘congrats’ card and the shape tools make the really balloons pop! (not literally.. that would be bad, the baby carriage would fall, lol)

This and That – Echo Park Paper!

Well, well! Here we go, lovelies! It’s the first day of CHA! I can share what I have been working on lately! I have been bugging you all with my ‘CHA this, and CHA that’ without showing you the goods.. No fun, right?!

Today I will be sharing my five Echo Park ’This and That’ projects with you all! This is a STUNNING twin line designed by Lori Whitlock! Both of these lines are just sooo dreamy and complete with chipboard and brads! Love having yummy embellishmenst to design with! Echo Park ALWAYS gets it right.. wouldn’t you agree?! Make sure you check out the BLOG and the EP Facebook page because there is even MORE to be revealed that I haven’t yet played with!

OK.. let’s get going here.. (I’m actually writing this about a week away from CHA, and it’s gonna kill me to not click the ‘publish’ button right away, lol!)

First, here’s my project using ‘This and That’ Graceful.. the girls line. *swoon* How pretty are these papers? I made a little gardening tool caddy to start.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

The little ‘seed’ pack in the back, yeah, I stitched it together and actually ‘stuffed’ if for dimension.. Came out pretty cute! The matching buttons were made with my Epiphany Crafts shape tool (which I will be doing a blog hop with them tomorrow, so check back!) The tool caddy is from My Time Made Easy and the flowers and butterflies are from SVG Cuts!

Now, on to project #2.. a Hot air balloon gift box! This was totally fun to create!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Cuteness, right?! I can’t really explain HOW to make this, but I will be making another one SVG Cuts style very soon! :)

And project #3 with ‘Graceful’ is this fun little card.. I looove that hot air balloon sticker (obviously it inspired the project above!)

Photobucket

Photobucket

And, if you haven’t noticed, I like to tilt my photos, LOL!

OK.. shall we carry on? I have two more yummy projects left to share with you all! This is the boys version of the line, ‘Charming’.

Photobucket

I did this simple little star card.. Super easy and was done in a few minutes! Yet, it’s pretty cool, right?!

And here’s my last project.. an altered canvas. I layered paper and stitched it.. decorated the sides of the canvas with paper and ink, and then made this super cool 3D star. Looks kinda country-ish, huh? Sorta? lol.. Me likey!

Photobucket

Photobucket

It actually has some cool ribbon and hangs, but I didn’t hang it up for a picture.. Maybe they will hang it at the booth and I can snap a pic!

OK, friends.. sorry this is pretty short without much details.. but I am on a time crunch right now, I will talk more about these beautiful lines and all the new wonderful stuff I find at CHA when I return on Wednesday! I am sure you will see tons of designer blogs and Facebook pages, but I still gotat share what I love, right? lol. Follow MY Facebook page CLICK HERE as I am sure I will share pics as I can!.. Actually I will probably be sharing all week!

See ya!

Pink Paislee – London Market

Well, folks.. here it is! I get to share one of my Pink Paislee projects! The GORGEOUS ‘London Market’ collection has been revealed! This is my first official project since joining the design team, and I hope you all love it! It’ more of a decoration than anything, but you could easily just make a crown and wand for a special birthday girl! This style just makes me so happy, and it’s a nice little change from all the bright and ‘cutesy’ stuff I tend to do..

Here is the GORGEOUS line! Make sure you head to the Pink Paislee Blog to see how you could win, and check out the ENTIRE collection!! Lots and lots of pretties!

Originally, I just made the crown and wand by itself, but being this will be shown at CHA, I decided to make a little ‘display’ for it so the wand could stand upright.. worked out perfect! I used the ‘mist-a-bles’ letters and rubbed black ink over them, so cool! Love the ink resistant parts showing through!

Photobucket

I just LOVE this collection! Just beautiful colors and prints! I wish I could wallpaper my craft area in that light blue rose print.. *swoon*

Photobucket

Photobucket

That little wand came our just right! It has a star on the back as well! You could really have a lot of fun with making these wands, add sparkles, embellishments, etc. and match them to a little girls’ party! The stick is a ‘cookie pop’ white stick with light pink washi tape twisted around it.

Photobucket

I didn’t want to add much to the crown, as I didn’t want to cover that gorgeous paper up, but I did string these little pennants from the London Market Ephemera pack (love all the pretties in this pack!)

Photobucket

I added in some paper roses..

And one of my favorite parts is this paper pleated trim! All the way around… *sigh* Love that crown paper, too!
Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

So, what do you think? Don’t you love those papers?.. Make sure you stop by the Pink Paislee blog to see all the sneak peeks this week and enter the giveaways!! You will LOVE what the DT has been making, they are all SO talented!! Still dunno how I made it on this team of crazy talent, but hey.. I’m loving it!

OK, my crafty friends! This will most likely be my last post until after CHA! I will be back Tuesday night and probably have a looooong blog post with lotsa pictures for you all to see! Remember, if you are coming to CHA, swing by the Pink Paislee booth and say hello! Booth #2091! I will be rocking my hot pink sparkly shoes and lanyard!

Toodles!

Buggy Valentine’s

Hello, lovelies!

I just wanted to get these photos posted to my blog with my SVG Cuts ‘Buggy Valentine’s’ project! Aren’t these adorable?! Not too many steps, easy to recreate and have fun with it! These are Valentines with a springy twist with non-traditional Valentine’s colors, cutie bugs and flowers! I hope they inspire you to create! For all the dimensions and details, you will need to check out THIS POST over at the SVG Cuts blog!

I used some yummy Doodlebug Designs ‘Sweet Cakes’ papers, glitter cardstock, and twine, so fun and bright, of course! What else would you expect from Doodlebug? Love ‘em!

Photobucket

(I could not get a good ‘group’ shot.. egh.. color is all outta whack!)

Photobucket

I love the daisy card.. you can hide a lollipop behind the daisy!

There ya go! Simple, right? Those little bugs sure are cute, Mary always does a fabulous job with her files.. and I LOVE cutesy stuff!

Anyhow, a few quick things before I let ya go.. Unless you already left me *sniffle* you know, those people who come to blogs just to see pics?.. waaah.. I mean, why wouldn’t you want to read all this blabber? lol.

First, It’s exactly ONE WEEK until I am at CHA! Whoot! Bring on the crazy crafting people!

Second, Pink Paislee kicks off their week of sneak peeks showing their new releases! I have a pretty little project fit for a princess to share with you all once that particular colletion I used goes live on the blog! So, be sure to check EVERY DAY on the Pink Paislee Blog!

Third… I got a couple posts/emails from some of you saying you can’t figure out where to leave comments on some of my posts. Well, when you are viewing my entire blog and not a link to an actual post, you will have to scroll back up to the TOP of my post (by the title/header) to find the comments link.. lame I know..

And fourth..

You’re awesome. :)

Photobucket

Washi tape is in the house, baby!

Yes! I mentioned the other day that I ordered some washi tape.. welp, the bulk of it has been delivered and my ‘collection’ quickly grew..

Photobucket

My OCD came out a bit and it’s all I could think about for a few days, lol.. I don’t ever buy anything in little bits.. (ok, I do, but not very often AT ALL) I have to have a whole pile of it, or nothing! I just ordered 5 more rolls last night.. Eeeeps!

I looove it.

So, I was right in the middle of playing with some pretty Pink Paislee stuff, and the tape started whispering sweet nothings to me… I just had to make something! I made this quick little card! Only took about 30 minutes, and it’s totally cool.. least to me it is, lol. I really like the look the tape gives. I went for a Paris/Love theme so I could try out my new Unity stamps.

Photobucket

Photobucket

I added a washi tape heart, and here’s how:

Photobucket

Adhere several rows of tape..

Then stamp and cut the heart out! Easy!

Photobucket

Here’s the yummy pile of goodness I used:

Photobucket

I got my Paris themed tape from Amazon (I have a prime membership and got it in two days, so I buy a LOT from Amazon, but you can get it elsewhere) The tape is ‘Paris’ by Cavallini & Co.

And since a lot of people on my FACEBOOK PAGE were asking where I got my tape, here’s some linky’s!

  • Cute Tape
  • Pretty Tape
  • A ‘washi Tape’ search on Big Cartel brinsg up several stores. I ordered some from Wishy Washy Tape.
  • Two Peas – Washi Tape
  • And of course places like Etsy will have different sellers, etc.. Ebay, Amazon..A good ol’ Google search. Also try searching for japanese masking tape or paper tape. Same thing.. :)

Yes, total enabler! *wink* Have fun! I believe washi tape will soon take over the world.. Muahaaha!

Ok.. maybe not.
